If you chunk all of history without hard facts into literary fiction then you're dismissing a large portion of History as a field of study. I don't think you're really that blunt in your dismissals, are you?

The point was that there is evidence, regardless of how tentative you personally find it.

What is the experience of complete rationality like? And which one comes first, or eludes to a sooner presence, the thoughts, the sight, or the experience?

I loosely accept historically recorded events as pertains to ordinary happenings, but when it comes to extraordinary events, I need more corroboration.

Here is what we know:

1. Fiction has been around since man first started telling/writing tales.

2. Exaggeration happens. People love to embellish.

3. People sometimes outright lie.

There are solid reasons that science uses anecdote only as a starting point to making in inquiry; never as evidence.

Is it a good feeling to be rational all the time?

Feelings do not point towards any sort of truth.

What if it occurs even before the light you see or the thoughts you think? Instantaneously.

Try it and find out for yourself, and then decide if it is true.

Science wasn't being practiced in it's modern form when Jesus was written about. It's not reasonable to demand that standard for that time period. Nor is it reasonable to dismiss what was provided from that time because it isn't modern.

Do you have to swallow it whole? Nope, of course not. But it's hardly a lack of evidence due to not being practiced as it is in modernity.

Seriously.

Try to explain the sequence of events, break it down. It should be simple for someone of your intellectual caliber.

Science has been around since the beginning, just not in a formalized manner.

Irregardless, that does not mean I have any reason whatsoever to accept a fantastic story. Do you know that 'The Odyssey' predates The Bible? Is that evidence for Sirens?

Yes. I think you're strangely exclusive in your definition of evidence.

I think maybe you're conflating evidence and proof into one thing.

If my wife is found murdered and there is a typed note next to her that reads "Kickle killed me!", do you think that is evidence of her killer?

Yes. Not proof but evidence.

Evidence that someone wanted the cops to think that Kickle did it. So let's see is it from her computer or not first of all . . . Check for fingerprints/dna, etc etc.

No it is not. It is evidence that someone typed a sentence. It does not point towards your guilt or innocence in the slightest.

I'm pretty sure it would be bagged and tagged as evidence, rather than proof.

Just two more pieces of evidence then we can convict him!

It would not likely land a conviction but it could be brought forth as evidence easily. Especially if nothing else was ever found and it was the only evidence gathered. You're grasping at straws though. For it to be evidence it does not have to conclusively show guilt or innocence.
