"but right and wrong is hardly more than a concept in our heads..a perspective, as the reality of the situation is often right for some, and wrong for others."

Would you be willing to act on your feelings towards what you percieve as terrorists?

Do you consider the loss of inocent lives in iraq acceptable for what was accomplished?

And how is the loss of life from terrorists different than those lost from americans?

Yes. Most definately.

While the loss of life of innocents is most unfortunate, it is part of war. So yes, I think the end will justify the means. Don't you think it safe to assume that overall removing Saddam will save more lives than have been lost in doing it?

Terrorists intentionally target civillians almost always. The US military has not, and has on occasion put themselves in more danger to avoid civilian casualties.

What can you say, really? Not only were they kind of an inappropriate target for the political statement they were trying to make (unless I got the message wrong, but I'm pretty sure it was supposed to be "USA go home"), it's a nasty thing to do.

The strongest person in a situation gets to decide who or what is wrong or right. That is the way of nature. Thats how it should be.

Yes. Most definately.

Well we know you wanted to bring back public executions for that guy the CIA set up. When it turned out he'd never met any terrorists and couldn't get a missile you went awfully quiet.

While the loss of life of innocents is most unfortunate, it is part of war

As long as it's not your life eh?

Don't you think it safe to assume that overall removing Saddam will save more lives than have been lost in doing it?

Hard one to call. With Iraq descending rapidly into a guerilla war which could last decades no-one knows.

The US military has not, and has on occasion put themselves in more danger to avoid civilian casualties.

Two words: Hiroshima. Nagasaki.

Read up on them.

I think you got the message wrong, because there is no message. They want the rebuilding efforts to fail so they can take over the country. They be it Saddam loyalists, or foreign terrorists don't care about the Iraqis.

The UN has a long history of rebuilding building nations and turning them great once again. oh no not really

And i would serriously doubt the iraqis who are launching attacks now would care between the us or the un being in iraqi, the thing thing that matters to those people is that they are infidels. The jihadis and others dont descriminate against infidels no matter their backround.

Nah, they just care that their country has been starved, bombed, and their people slaughtered by an invading force. How would you feel if America was invaded by arabs? Would you welcome them with open arms?

So when the americans invaded the main island im sure no innocent japs would have died just like none were killed in the fire bombings. More than 300,000 would have most likely have been lost in an invasion

Ok, so what if a white racial group invaded america? Would it matter what skin colour they were or would you be more concerned that they had bombed and slaughtered your loved ones?

Alex let the adults talk for a while. First of all, I got tired of arguing about the guy with the missile. Just because he did not have a previous conviction doesn't mean he hadn't dealt arms before. You don't know if he has and neither do I. You also don't know if he has sold weapons to terrorists before or not. Everyone has to get caught for the first time once. I know you are going to cling to your supposed 'victory' for a while, since you bring it up in every post.

I said the loss of life was unfortunate. Clowns like you would have let Saddam keep on killing the Iraqis for another few decades. As far as a decades long guerilla war goes, you are insane. No way that is going to happen. As I have said before as soon as the US military kills 300,000 Iraqis and hides them in mass graves get back to me.

Finally, I should have said the US military has not purposefully target civilians in this war. I should have knowm you would throw in a Red Herring that has no bearing on this war at all. Considering the fact that we have discussed that at length in the past you know I have heard of them.

"I think you got the message wrong, because there is no message. They want the rebuilding efforts to fail so they can take over the country. They be it Saddam loyalists, or foreign terrorists don't care about the Iraqis. "

Their technique is shit then. The real trick is to work alongside the americans, do what they say, establish good trade with them, and once the rebuilding is done, treat your people the same as Saddam did. Just don't do anything stupid like invade Kuwait and things will be fine.

The problem with that is neither the Iraqis or the Americans are going to let them control the country. They are getting quite desperate.

If you had read my post alex you would have known i was talking solely about post war. I wasent involving the war as a factor. And based on the fact that the un headqauters were bombed i think that is a good sign that if america left and the un took over all the attacks would stop. About a week ago a mob killed a un mailman delivering mail. Do you think they asked him to make sure he was an american first. Im guessing not, all they saw were his skin and clothes.

So you would act upon your perception that terrorists are bad, innocents lives, while unfortunate, are acceptable if it saves more than it kills, but it is different if one does not target civilians.

Understandable...most would answer the same. I assume you would hold to those beliefs no matter americas' world standing, correct?

If so, you are no different than the terrorist because like you, he is willing to kill innocents if it saves more lives than it eliminates. You endorse pre-emptive defense when it is known the target is an evil terrorist regime.....my point is you don't know anything other than what you've experienced and seen, and by your willingness to act without knowing perpetuates the conflicts we have now, and every conflict sinse our forming of society. It is the same mentality and i hope you realise the only difference is perspective.....the winner being 'right', the loser 'wrong'...

... there are certain situations which would appear to have a very definate answer. The problem comes from people...we can manipulate each other, so the the very act of determining right , to me, seems like a precursor for doing wrong. Do they both exist? possibly, but right and wrong is hardly more than a concept in our heads..a perspective, as the reality of the situation is often right for some, and wrong for others.

Don't mistake me on this shatka...i agree with you, this is the reality of the world, but i have been contemplating whether we can be more than our nature. Its one thing for you to be willing to go overseas and kill some evil terrorists, and another to see someone planting a shrapnel bomb in a public place and for you to stop him. Both instances you act on your perspective. I would say the latter would be 'right' and the first anyones guess.

So it was nothing to do with it becoming obvious to even the dullest of us that it was simply blatant propaganda?

I said the loss of life was unfortunate

Go and tell that to the little kid who lost his entire family and both his arms in a bombing. Lets hope he spits in your face.
