Everything is better than it was the last time.  I'm good.

If we could look into each others hearts, and understand the unique challenges each of us faces, I think we would treat each other much more gently, with more love, patience, tolerance, and care.

It takes a lot of courage to go out there and radiate your essence.

I know you scared, you should ask us if we scared too.  If you was there, and we just knew you cared too.

it's been said that there are 17 trillion mind moments in the time it takes to blink an eye, and nirvana is the space between those mind moments... it's the space like aspect of mind in which events occur. it's ever present, fundamental to all experience, and not something that can be attained.

take that with a grain of salt

Buddhism:

Namo Tassa Bhagawato Arahato Summa Sambuddhasa

I point to the completely enlightened one, the one who has gone through the gate of awakening, the Buddha.

To the Buddha, The Dharma and the Excellent Sangha, I go for refuge until Bodhi is realized.

I undertake to train myself not to harm or kill.

I undertake to train myself not to take that which is not freely given.

I undertake to train myself not to engage in sexual misconduct.

I undertake to train myself not to engage in unwholesome speech.

I undertake to train myself to abstain from intoxicants that cloud the mind.

May all beings be well and happy. May all beings be free of fear and pain.

May I awaken quickly for the benefit of all beings!

(Meditate)

Edam te Punakama, Asavakia Viham Hontu.

By virtue of these wise actions may all the cancers and hindrances be eliminated.

I share the merit acquired through this practice with all beings.

Sadhu. Sadhu. Sadhu.

there are some ascetics who live off nothing but fruit so as not to harm anything. I actually have a friend who observes this. One of the smartest and most respectable people I know.

Parenchyma cells contain starch grains and they are considered being alive.

Though they don't have ganglia or any other mechanism to feel pain that I know of.

I think sentience is an important attribute when considering such things.

Maybe this could be used to distinguish alive from living.

They better not walk or breath without a good mask cause they'll be killing things.

wow. You really caught me off guard with that. I never saw it coming

It's really the concept of doing as little harm as possible. Obviously with micro organisms and all, there's no way to completely avoid it.

No, there is no selecting. Only harming things that one cannot ABSOLUTELY avoid harming. One has no choice but to harm micro organisms. I guess one could kill themself to avoid this entirely, but then wouldn't they be killing all the micro organisms that exist in their body?
