Nope. You actually changed my mind. lol don't worry people on here can be swayed with logic as with everyone else, or at least I'd hope.

Even on something that has nothing to do with logic at all.

The only reason people believe in other peoples dreams at all, is because they themselves experience dreams. If other humans didn't have dreams, the dreamer would be labeled with schizophrenia, or some other mental issue.  Same goes with the psychedelic experience.

"Dreams" are not a good analogy.  Dreams are not objectively real.  Even though we all have them, we recognize that they're not objectively real... yes?  The commonality of the experience does not make them "real."

"ESP" is perhaps a better case study than ghosts or demons.  ESP is alleged to be more "factual."  More physical and measurable.

Lots of people have claimed ESP powers.  Can anyone reading here cite one peer-reviewed scientific study that conclusively established the validity of such a claim?  One?

(Of course, to the anti-science, anti-intellectual crowd, none of this appeal to reason will be convincing.)

What are you talking aboot.

Folks have telepathic conversations all day long.

This is nothing new, many Scientists do the same thing and then Contemplate British Comedy so they can learn how to maintain Plausible Deniability aboot such Phenomena...

You see, then they can Snooker someone into forking over money to fund studies of such things...

They have been looking for Dark Matter that is "Mysterious and Motherfucking Elusive" for decades.

They haven't found any.

Dark Matter isn't anywhere to be found, yet Scientists are looking for it.  Folks have telepathic conversations ALL DAY LONG and Science may tell you it isn't proven...

Lol.  I'm sure you do, Mr.Al.  I'm sure you do.

Me, I'm lucky if I have one decent old-fashioned fuckin' mouth-to-mouth conversation in a given day.

I'll leave the telepathy for others.

What, you telling me your Celestial Ears don't work?

Well, until recently I didn't have a Third Eye at all so don't worry about it.

At least you can use hand gestures...

Yeah, I wouldn't mind talking to some old friends in person, they seem distracted or something these days.

A lot of folks have their own lives, they grow up and move far away, have families et cetera (you know, hey we'll get together around the Holy-Days one of these years, that's what it's like.)

On a good day, they work.  Yes.

Do yours work all the time, Mr.Al?  24/7?

I should think the noise would be deafening, if one's Celestial Ears worked all the time.

You may find that they work more often, and better, when your Awareness is Focused and Concentrated.

I am Severely Shell-Shocked so I am always FOCUSED.

Yes my Celestial Ears work 24/7, I also hear everything with 0 effort.

It makes for awkward mental telepathy with individuals because I know what they are Going to Think as well, so sometimes I pre-emptively respond to what they were going to think for a question...  The difference between their thought-forms and their telepathic verbalizations, maybe like the difference between talking face to face and listening outside a room with the door wide open and everyone is loud.

I also know what Mind Nature, everywhere and everywhen, is doing...

There's always more to every moment than we can perceive. Limited by our brain's capacity to experience it. Every thing is a lower dimensional representation of a higher plane. Know that you don't know.

That's good advice, though "knowing that you don't know" is not the same as believing everything.  The great mystics and gurus do not surrender their intellects.  They do not stop questioning.

I believe, as I think you do, that there are planes of existence and understanding.  That what I perceive through my five senses is only part of the story.

But I also believe, with relative confidence, that there is no Santa Claus.

If ya get my meaning...

The "roots" consist of our longings and desires.  Santa Claus beckons us because we long for the peace and joy he offers.

"Ghosts" beckon you because you long for the comfort of believing that life doesn't end with physical death.

I don't know if you can call them ghosts.

And the roots are in Siberian Shamanism.  The Amanita Muscaria.

A real way to cross over into contact with what you deny.

I will never understand why so many people equate skepticism with closed-mindedness.

is there that much of a difference? By definition, the skeptic is already shutting himself off from fully accepting anything he's told. even though he may find the right answer through skepticism every once in a while, the way life works is through believing and being open to experiences without defining your immediate perception in a way that makes you look for negatives. Dont assume one answer or another, and you wont close yourself off from the possibilities of the other answers

Supernatural? What about the issue of words? What is it that gives these little noises and scribbles, a meaning? Where does the meaning come from, what is the meaning for, why must there be meaning at all?

Skepticism means not assuming things without evidence.  Why would you say that skeptics "assume" things that they shouldn't?  Someone who believes in ghosts is assuming things they shouldn't.  I'm just as open to possibilities and experiences as the next person.  But it doesn't follow that I can just believe anything I want.

That's not the way humans function.  "Taking sides" or "taking a position" is how things human work.

We -- our brains -- are an essentially binary operation.  "On" or "off."  Asleep or awake.  Going or coming.  Striving for enlightenment, or not.

By cautioning against taking sides, you are taking the side that cautions against taking sides.

You cannot step outside of your biology, if you are to be a fully functional human being.

There are things that are true that we may never find evidence for, and those things might be as if not more important than anything else.

so ur saying that u should take the side of an argument before even knowing what the question is? if you want to be able to see right from wrong you need to treat every option as equal

Yup, and there are things which exist that we haven't even conceived of.  So how can we even discuss those things?  And if there isn't evidence for something, why would you believe in it?

Depends on what you take as evidence. If you're searching for physical, material evidence for everything before you consider it as a truth in your life, then you're giving your freedom away. There are many things about the next dimension that can only be talked about through metaphor, philosophy. In fact, the entire reality we live in is a giant metaphor and they can be found anywhere the heart looks. I define myself as a lower dimensional reflection of a higher dimension, knowing that there is a part of me that is on the astral plane, where at every choice the linear self is choosing which part of the Self it wants to express.

You don't look for 'god' as an external coordinate; you look within yourself. Because the universe is inside of You, not 'out there'. We are like projectors, projecting our contents onto the white, neutral projector screen. We project ourselves onto the universe and our own perceptions are reflected back to us.
