Is this sarcasm or serious? Because songs have titles and colors have names, not naming things when language and thought are automatic to your mind is a bizarre form of self-denial.

I remember during some anti-racial week thing at my high school, some kids were like "there's no race!". Um, actually sir, there is such thing as race. Are German Shepards and Labs the same dog? Not quite.

Automatic? I don't think so. The only thing automatic to me seems to be my sense data, which doesn't include categories. I see what I see, and I can dice it up and call it what I want, but it isn't automatic to me to do so. If it is for you, fine.

Two dogs are never the same. No two dogs, or any living thing, even if they share DNA, are not the same exactly. We can see two dogs as similar, and group similarities. But while people may dice things up differently, the dogs are existent whether people agree they are or not.

To me those thought processes are automated for effeciency, guess categorization / implication / correlation isn't necessarily automated. It would be difficult to ad-lib within Jazz Harmony, or to work on nuclear physics, if one has to redefine all the precursors mid-sentence.

I just...this thread perplexes me.

If you're from Asia, you're Asian. If you're from Europe, you're European. It's just a system of classification beyond homosapien. Are you from Asia, but settled in America? Then you're Asian-American. How could you not believe in it? Well shit, how could you believe in it? It's not something that warrants belief. Race is just a classification we use to further identify people.
