I now understand "Waking Life"
    #1698060 -

So heres what i think. You know how the man and woman are talking in bed and the dude is like "theres a period right after you die where your body isnt alive but like 10-15 minutes of brain activity is still going on... and that a dream minute seems like eternity compared to a waking minute"... not exact quotes but something like it. Well i think that what the kid is going through is that 10-15 minutes after death and these people that he meets are preparing him for the afterlife or something like that. Tell me what you think on my hypothesis.

Yea I thought about that...

I'm watching it right now actually, heheh, just bought it for 7$ such a trippy movie...

I think it might just be a dream that he keeps slipping in and out of lucidity.

maybe life is just a dream and you keep waking up into a dream every day.

Or maybe like what was already said...he keeps slipping between dream and lucidity.

That movie kicks ass
Fucking amazing

"he makes that phone call and says he just got back"

woah that's fuckin cool...... the feeling of falling asleep could also be interpreted as falling into another mindset, "arriving" in this new state of being, or "returning" to it, as you do when you wake up

Tripping is similar.. sometimes it feels a bit like "I just got back" when I start tripping; that oddly-familiar feeling..

however, that is the same "scene" as when he sees that note and gets hit by the car.... he reads the note - the printed material seems very clear, so is he actually awake at that point?

lol who knows heh its a killer movie though

"what's a foaf?" A foaf is a friend of a friend.

Yeh I agree with your explanation. And then in the end he just *floats away*. I still can't work out the dude in the cage tho - he seems like an anomaly.

You should watch "Waking Life" with the director commentary. I think he talks about the symbolism about this.

yeah he also mentions how the red guy in the jail cell was actually shot for a DIFFERENT FILM..

this is why he seems so out of place  he IS!

I think he put that in so David Sosa would seem even COOLER
