yes, Lucid dreams and deleriants like datura (if you know what you're doing) are the perfect grounds for chattin it up with entities/deities

if you're trying to do it in your normal average waking state of consciousness, you're most likely kidding yourself.

one of the main uses for ritual, is bringing yourself to the desired mindset for shit to actually happen.

that mindset... at least from the chaos magick perspective, is called 'gnosis'.... this can be brought about by certain drugs (chemognosis), certain breathing patterns, fasting, sleep dep, dreaming, ritual, extreme pain, and a few other methods... I usually combine a few of them for a potent working.

I didn't necessarily say I took a side... I just resonate more with one, feels like the natural path to take... like electricity or water finding its course.

I feel like I'm water trying to go uphill or electricity through an insulator when I try RHP exercises...

and personally, I have no urge to meld with the light and become part of an ocean instead of remaining a single raindrop... I enjoy, cherish, and worship my independent soul/being, and will do whatever I can to hold it together before/when the time comes.

I have a question regarding RHP - Rule of Three

If everything positive you do get's returned 3 fold..
And I give off positive energy for so long and let it add up for years.

Couldn't I then give off negative energy until my positives reach 0?

Like if I gave off positive energy for 3 years.
Then I give off negative energy for 1 year.

How would this effect me if I don't use up all my positive energy?

Anyone get what I'm trying to say?

That's a pretty big loop hole.

I don't think that's the idea. The idea is the realize you are the ocean to increase the power of your individuated consciousness. The LHP, similarly, is a path to self destruction. I don't see a different between the two - it's just a different type of struggle.

The essence of the RHP, as far as I was aware, is to eliminate/dissolve individual consciousness in favor of becoming part of the All... in contrast to the LHP where one seeks apotheosis: literally, to become a God.  The trouble is that these terms are also used very differently in another context: the so-called "left hand path" Aghori sects of India who practice Tantra have as their ultimate goal the dissolution of their individual egos but do so in a societally unacceptable manner that includes such practices as living in graveyards and violating all sorts of taboos.  I suspect you're referring to this latter use of the word, c0sm0.

To become a God and to realize you are God are the same thing IMO. All sources consistently say the same thing though - when you come to this realization you have no interest in the powers (psi) that come with it. 

Thomas Campbell (My Big TOE) separates these two paths into three:
The path of surrender - eliminate the go by surrendering to a higher power
The path of service - eliminate the ego by focusing on others needs
The path of knowledge - eliminate the ego through exploration and self-knowledge (i.e, magick and OBEs)

The path of knowledge is what I would consider the LHP in relation to the more Eastern paths. I agree with Mr. Campbell that the PoK is the best suited for the Westerner.

Now, there is also the path of selfishness (service to self), which shouldn't be confused with the LHP (PoK). This is the Illuminati type stuff where megalomaniacs think they are Gods prevailing over the human race. According to the Law of One and other sources, STS eventually ends in self-destruction as well. It is a part of the duality which furthers the spiritual evolution of those that inhabit this physical realm.

But my point is that, in this context, the LHP is not about destroying the ego... it's about preserving it, making it immortal, becoming God!  Again, there is much confusion with the terminology and you have correctly divided paths to dissolution of the ego into a left-hand and right-hand (not to to mention the middle-hand) path but the particular focus of the torrent of the OP is about preservation of the ego, like LuSiD is saying.

To quote from Lords of the Left-Hand Path by Stephen Flowers, which is referring to THIS particular LHP:

I think the confusion is arising because we have two different ideas here, ego and individualization. I don't believe it is an all or nothing deal - either ego or no ego. I believe individualization comes from lessening the ego, therefore increasing personal power. There is still a you as we would consider it in an ego sense. It is an expanded you. It seems there are only a few remarkable individuals in our history who have been able to completely annihilate the subjective individualized self. I agree with you guys that I'm not sure I would want this - at least not right away. I want to expand what I am, not completely destroy it.

the rule of 3 is subconscious guilt... not some mysterious force... IMO

don't do harm to someone if you yourself would feel guilty about harming them physically, financially, emotionally, etc... if you do feel guilty/remorseful... that shit will eat you alive... or 'backfire' so to speak.

if you curse someone in any way... you better fuckin mean it... or really you're just cursing yourself.

some people really do suck, and/or go out of their way to hurt you or your loved ones, to make their own life better... why send love their way?... do the opposite, it'll give you a sense of satisfaction... and really, if you don't, who knows how much longer it'll take, and how many people they'll hurt until someone does something about it??

a 'curse' isn't necessarily some invisible force sent by some magician to make an enemy die... it could be some way of fucking said person over by legal means, causing them to lose face in front of important people by making them angry and lashing out at the wrong time (like in a court room), using perfectly accepted, legal, social means.. (lawyers really are adepts of 'lesser black magick')

The less you are a single raindrop, the less you suffer.  It doesn't have to happen all at once, you go at your own pace.  But at least set off on the path, because its very blissful and along the way the individual entity actually gains lots of energy and power, and can accomplish much more.

Nothing is lost, everything is gained.  It just sounds scary.  In reality, the consciousness that you are now doesn't go anywhere, the body doesn't go anywhere, even the thoughts don't go anywhere if you don't want them to. You can come closer to the ocean of being and still go into the mind in the form of the intellect whenever you feel like it.

Read some Walt Whitman poetry, DeCypher, I think you would really dig it.  He's sort of a left hand path sage, in a way.

edit: i guess the point of my post is that there is no need to confine yourself to one or the other path.  There will be times when you should try to abandon your ego and let the universe take you.  There will also be times when you rejoice in your individuality.  Nobody's gonna make you do anything, so just be open to both sides.
