The only time I haven't harassed vegetarians over whatever weird reasons they gave for not eating meat is if they genuinely dislike the flavor and/or texture of meat, so it's a matter of preference. I can get behind that logic.

I have to somewhat agree with what akira_akuma said.

You don't like the sensation of having an unpleasant texture in your mouth, or an unpleasant flavor, and to you this is cause enough not to eat a thing.

To the type of person you speak of, eating meat causes a "discomfort" which could be considered emotionally analogous to the physical displeasure of an off-flavor. Some people would just rather not have a "bad taste in their heart" when they eat.

I like to be objective and rational as possible. I eat meat. And I feel guilt over it. Thousands of other creatures have probably died so that I can continue to live. Honestly, I sometimes wonder how people DON'T feel bad when they think about something like that. Do you feel that you're so much more important than thousands of other living creatures?

Don't take that as an insult... I'm certainly no better...

Like I said, the other reasons don't make sense to me. Nutritionally, at least some meat is almost essential. Morally, I can understand the pain in your heart from eating other animals, but I have two issues with that logic. One, I don't think a plant, even a plant cell, holds any less value as a living organism than an animal. Two, I respect that everything I eat gave its life so that mine could continue. I just hope that no part of it went to waste.

Not liking the taste isn't a logical conclusion, it's just a preference. That's why I'm okay with it.

What do you do when they cum?

Sell it as vegan yogurt, of course.

Okay, I understand what you're saying.

You seem to think that those who "feel bad" for the animals do so because of some kind of logical choice that they've made. Had you considered that some people, quite instinctively, or reflexively perhaps (like a preference-reaction) feel discomfort in that situation?

You could attempt to argue that some logical process is required to "feel bad" about that... to which I can only say that I would feel squeamish about killing or having-killed anything that appeared conscious.

Not because of the logic of it... if you capped a deer in front of me, I would feel bad. I wouldn't waste any time thinking of right or wrong before the emotion, I would simply feel an immediate sensation of sadness. I wouldn't judge you for the act (unless you were disrespectful/wasteful... then I'd become a real smug fuck) but I would feel a sense of sorrow attached with the loss of conscious life...

I think someone comes across a psycho beating an infant  with a baseball bat, they don't need pause to think "why, this is human homicide, and furthermore, I suspect that infant hasn't done a single thing to warrant this degree of hostility" before getting upset. No-- you'd puke, before doing whatever else. It would be at the level of a reaction. [/rant]

Yeah, I don't have anything against vegans or vegetarians, but to me it does seem like these health food people are so occupied on keeping themselves healthy in order to live a long life that they simply forgot to live.

QFmotherfuckingT,

Beieng a vegetarian/vegan is a choice I can respect, I don't even need to understand the reasons, it's just a thing people do, and we are all so diffrent that it really is cool that there are people who choose to go this route, even if it makes no sense to me.

But. There is the kind of douchebag that feels just because they made this choice, they have the right to tell others what to do as if they found the truth and feel it is their duty to preach and be an asshole about it, to those I extend an unwelcoming STFU! and maybe a face-punch.

The more extrem kind of guys doing this clearly have issues or some kind of mental diosrder not even heard of, PETA is so digusting they compared animal raisning to the holocaust, they make me sick.

It's funny that when you are connected to the whole process of rasining an animal and killing it it doesn't cross your mind for one second that it is wrong, yet when you live disconnected from that you are horrified when you see the reality of it.

tl;dr probably

Some people's feelings are more complicated, but easily rationalized.
