Difference between religious folk and atheists
    #11822863 -

Religious people believe all other religions are wrong but theirs.

Atheists believe all religions are wrong.

Both conclude that self delusion runs rampant.

What's funny is that you will probably die in some random traffic accident not funny for you but funny because you have made such a big deal about theism and beliefs and science and how technology is wonderful so while I don't wish you to die in that way I do think it is funny that in all likelihood you will of course it's not funny ha ha but funny in an odd way.

I have to agree.  It's just as illogical to be an atheist as it is to be a religious zealot.  God cannot be proven or dis-proven.

Atheists see the hypocrisy and self-delusion inherent in religion whilst the religious will only admit the hypocrisy and self-delusion inherent in other religions and not their 'precious', 'truthful' one.

Is this what you are trying to say? Or are you just trying to suggest that atheists and religious folk are equally self-delusive?

The only position that needs attacking is religions widely accepted monopoly on morality. That is the only position now that needs to be refuted, all the other ground has been covered by Dawkins and co.

Weltgeist ftw.

But honestly rationalego is dead on with his assessment. No one doctrine will ever have a legitimate claim to all morality, or can it? In practicality it seems that there cannot be 'one doctrine' to have a monopoly over morality. In theory it seems like there could be one maxim that all people could adhere to. "Know thy self" etc are good candidates imo. Trouble comes when we try to force our projection of morality onto others.

I claim nothing and still consider myself an athiest.

There is no proof for religion to follow in the footsteps of Dawkins I am just as agnostic toward religion as I am toward santa clause or the tooth fairy.
