What Would Enlightenment Be Like?
    #11615791 -

A transcendence of death/space/time?

Since DMT activates the same chakra which you would associate with enlightenment (which exists outside of the body) would being enlightened just be like being on DMT all the time?

There has to be some basic description of what its like. I've read Be Here Now and Ram Dass claims (what I wrote above excluding the DMT part)

So I guess enlightenment is how YOU become Christ/Buddha but your perception is that of God's (all)

Enlightenment is coming to the realization everything is one. I would say it is being "beigness" itself. Its beyond human.

IMO enlightenment would entail a logical and honest assessment of what it means to be a human primate animal on earth. This would include understanding our basic emotional/psychological motivations such as death anxiety, fear, love, etc., and there profound implications for our experience here.

After first doing DMT I described it to my friend as having a gods perception.
I think that occasional DMT use can really help balance life.

I would identify two types of enlightenment:  state-level enlightenment and stage-level enlightenment.  State-level enlightenment would be a constant state of ever-present non-dual awareness.  This kind of enlightenment would have a definite recognizable end-state, such that one could differentiate between someone who has it and someone who doesn't.  The other kind of enlightenment is an ongoing process of continual evolving consciousness, with no discernible omega point.

The continual evolution/expansion of consciousness happens within nondual awareness

Its almost like an infinite expansion & maturing, against a backround of unchanging awareness

Really? I think it does. It sends your perception out of body. The 8th chakra exists outside of body...

so thats my take on it.

I don't know. I'm not enlightened. Lol. But, a wise person once said about enlightenment: 'Money you can finish. Enlightenment you cannot finish.'

It feels like he's right about that. To me enlightenment comes in phases. When you realise something you go up, but that up reinforces the experience of the effects of your actions. It's like to become more subtle means to be influenced more subtly by everything one does or says or thinks. Then there follows a period of difficulty whereby the new level of consciousness is integrated into one being. Until a new realisation dawns and the whole thing turns around again... enlightenment may very well be a very very long road to completion and fulfilment of our potentials. Not just as individuals but also as humanity. So i don't think enlightenment is solely individual, it is a collective experience of the unfolding of consciousness and the integration of realisations into one's being as an individual or into the collective being as a group. Me thinks... :undecided:

Enlightment is like reaching a new level of understanding, most likely everyone of us is enlightened compared to the understanding of 2000 years ago. Understanding is infinite, so enlightment must be infinite too. If you desire to be enlightened, you can't possibly reach it as you can't see the enlightment that you already have. The subconscious already holds a new level of understanding, which can be released through dreams or drugs or meditation..

What you claim I'm already enlightened but.. without being enlightened? Yes.. I believe humans are made out of two parts, two minds, the stupid mind and the smart mind.. it's all about activating one or the other. I guess this is why drugs give you the enlightment experience, because you are already enlightened.

How else could you possibly judge you or someone else to be enlightened if you didn't already know what it was?

It is not like being high on drugs. It is like being just like you are all of the time. Believing that there is a difference is how it slips through your fingers and seems elusive.

A warrior is tuned to survive, and he survives in the best of all possible fashions." ― Carlos Castaneda
