to me, it's in the fact that you're overly concerned with the origin of products in a time of globalization.

We're still in America, celebrating an American holiday, in a way that America has come to know it. The fact that we celebrate it by using the products available to us, means little to nothing to me.

In what way is it limiting freedom?
An economy needs to be based on something.
And unless you've got no independence of your own, which really has nothing to do with the country, you have the opportunity to spend the 4th of July in quite a variety of ways. I mean, really, we're currently spending time on the internet, one of the freest places around.

Tonight, I will be spending time with my family, enjoying a good meal and the entertainment of fireworks. That's how I am choosing to spend my 4th, and it's basically a family tradition. I enjoy it, the rest of my family enjoys it, and I don't understand the point of raining on a parade, if the parade is optional.

The real irony is that Americans call their founding fathers 'patriots' which means 'loyal to the fatherland'. The truth is that they were terrorists and highly disloyal to the fatherland. If the revolutionaries had not won, they would be held in high contempt in the history books and by the people of America today.

I can state instead the places I have not visited. California, Hawaii, Alaska, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico. I lived in the US for two decades as well.

Unless you realize that they were simply speaking of the fatherland they were fighting to have be their own. Then there is no irony. Not being loyal to one fatherland doesn't mean that you aren't loyal to another.

I see the freedoms I have as wonderful, and a reason to celebrate. That by no means suggests it is perfect. But it also doesn't mean it is nothing but broken.

In a sense, yes, our economy can be based on any innovative idea that comes around. The .com boom was an interesting example of this IMO. And sure, a society is going to reflect the economy, it's a functioning system. Do you have an alternative? And would any alternative be less limiting?

you know what is really ironic about celebrating independance day at all is, its that you guys fought for your independance to rid your self of britian's controlling central banking and now that's what Controls a 100% of the cash flow in your nation the federal reserve which isnt even federal or related to the goverment in any way
