Shroom Dehydration

Hey!

How exactly can you dehydrate shrooms with kittie litter? And, Is using a electric dehydrator bought from lets say wal-mart safe or will it take the potency away? Thanks for the help...in advance..

my 2 cents

I bought a dehydrator from a thrift store for 3 dollars, it works like a charm. The low heat that is generated does not seem to diminish potency. I have drilled about 20 holes in the side of each tray to allow fresh cool air to be drawn in with the upward flow of the warm air, and I only dry on the top two trays.

The kitty litter, or any dessicant, comes in later for me, I dry them almost all the way in the dehydrator, then make a drying chamber to get them cracker dry. Hope this helps

It depends, does the dehydrator from walmart have a temp setting, if so, then go for it. There's one at Wally world that I saw with a temp setting that will go as low as 95 deg. I think it was like $40. My buddy just sets some of his shrooms on paper towels and fan dries. Worked so far for him.

First of all, there's this link at the top of the page called "search". Perhaps you should use it, you will find that this question has been answered many many times over. Search for an answer first, then ask.
As for the drying answers, a food dehydrator works, just set the heat setting to low or no heat.
As for the 100% pure silica gel cat litter, fan dry, then place the partially wet mushrooms on mesh, with silica gel under the mesh in an air-tight container until they're cracker dry, about 24 hours.
