What is the point of making the shrooms absolutley cracker dry? wouldn't just fanning for a few days suffice?

so.. what is the point of making the cracker dry? will they rot if they aren't ?

They may not rot, but the active ingredients will degrade with time. 90% dry shrooms can be finished in an oven. Preheat to 150 degrees Fahrenheit, no hotter. Turn oven off. Place shrooms on a piece of newspaper, wait one hour. They should snap cleanly.

When storing mushrooms for a long time , ANY kind of moisture that is left in their tissue will degrade the final product. They might not rot, but chances are their potency will degrade faster than a fruit which has all of it's moisture removed. peace
