The Miracle of a Tree

There is an old saying that goes something like: "You can't see the forest for the trees." Well, sometimes it is good to look at the big picture, but all too often many of us forget to take the time to appreciate the small things in life; or to quote another old maxim: "Stop and smell the roses."
While roses are a miracle in themselves, I'd like to focus on the trees mentioned in the first of the above proverbs. Trees. I'm sure you all see them everyday. But when is the last time you really stopped to look at one? When is the last time you realized what a great miracle of life each and every single tree is? Yes, a miracle. A miracle that we overlook and take for granted every day. Next time you see a tree growing, think about how it started. The color, feel, design, and texture of each tree's strong, thick bark, far-reaching limbs, and innumerable leaves started from just a single, small seed. If that isn't a miracle, then what is? Many people suggest hugging trees. I find that to be a tad bit uncomfortable, and a good way to get people to look at you like you're crazy. Instead, I recommend climbing a tree next time you have a chance. And forget your shoes too! Let your bare feet feel the bark of the tree. Let the tree's soul touch your's through the soles of your feet! It's a great feeling. When you are up in the tree, admire how every single leaf is positioned to receive the optimal amount of sunlight. Caress the bark of the trunk and limbs with your hands, and imagine the life-blood of the tree flowing through it as you do so.
The point is, a tree is a miracle. And it is a miracle that can inspire you with awe and wonder everyday. If more people took the time to admire miracles like this, the world would be a much better place.
Just my two cents Peace and love,
-RebelSteve

I have thought the same thing. People gasp when the face of jesus appears on a tortilla, but as if the photosynthesis of a plant is not more of a miracle, and yet that happens everyday. I think it's about time we appreciate the sense of beauty that went into creating the world around us.

i agree tree are beautiful and in the state of bliss they are even more alive. what of those cutting them down though? it seems we smart thinkers of the earth are attempting to create an easier life for ourselves while we are destroying life in the process. fucken idiots, illogical thinkers, sick excuse for intelligence, thats my two cents.

exactly...
I am just starting to appreciate nature. I have been in a bad mood for many years now. I am now starting to learn to enjoy simple things again. I now go outside at least once a day just to sit and watch nature. bees collecting pollen, squirrels eating. (i love squirrels) just being back in tune with the primitive self. before smog and traffic and stress.
I used to say "Life sucks" now I say " My life as it is Sucks. therefore I must change it." It is a little difference but a huge difference. because now there is hope.

Trees...
I used to talk to trees, they answer... you might call me insane
I spent many of my bemushroomed hours upon or under trees. There is a huge beech with a very tall branch where I used to lay upon when I' m tripping or feeling bad or need a refreshment.
It is so sad that most people don' t pay attention to the miracles surrounding them every day. Maybe we are just too busy. It' s funny, but most of the "shroomheads" I know are more sensitive to such things than others.
I will allways try to keep my eyes , my ears, my heart, my mind open, even it is sometimes hard if you have to run after money just to survive.

Was someone looking for Jesus in a tortilla? Well, I couldn't find him; but I hope the Virgin Mary will do!
