wow that is truly amazing and inspiring. i try to make people's day a little bit better whether it be by smiling at them or having a conversation with them or just saying hello or good morning.. it's such a shame that society today lives in fear of each other.

does society today live in fear of each other?

in certain communities and certain demographics perhaps.

I think it's something that happens everywhere. Are you trying to say that this doesn't applies to the place where you live? Lol if so, tell me where is it... I wanna live there too.

Indeed. Once the aliens come to liberate humanity from its current shell, we can make a living robbing people at cuddle parties, Burning Man and anywhere else where people think love will make a difference in their meaningless lives.

Good luck with all that.

I'd still offer free hugs, because it would matter enough to me to be worth the risk.  Maybe I'd start leaving my wallet at home, though.

Why are people so obsessed with being touched? "I must have affection, at all costs - even if it is meaningless expressions from strangers who steal my wallet and attack me with a cat-o-nine tails."

You didn't say anything about a cat-o-nine tails in your previous post.  That would definitely dissuade me.

Why the "obsession" with being touched?  Hmm...I guess because it IS meaningful to those rare individuals who are hugging without stealing my wallet (or squeezing my ass.)

Humans need to be touched.  We get sick and crazy without it.

If I want a hug I've got a girlfriend or a mother. I might view everything sideways, but I don't see whats so special about hugging random strangers. To me, it seems like an act of desperation or a odd display of self-percieved moral superiority. As soon as I heard about this guy I disliked him (as you can see.) He just seems so Christian.

Hitting a person in the head and steal their belongings is desperate too.
My point is these things usually happen in proportional measures... and this guy is good at balancing.:smirk:
But really, just let the guy be... at least he's doing what he urges for

Whats wrong with Christians? Why are you harboring grudges against peopl;e with good intentions?

You have 2 blessings in your life and an ability to receive physical affection, can you feel good about it instead of focusing upon and judging other people's deficits?

I suppose it is kind of like handing out free food. Some people will take it just because, some people might be very very hungry and grateful for your offer, and some will just be a little happier because of it.

It is also a social experiment and people's reactions are interesting.

The first person I hugged was an obese girl and she had an air of seriousness in her eyes. I cannot really pass judgement on whether or not hugs are rare occurances in her life, but it could have definitely been that way.

I have to focus on paradocracy today.
It is my new political movement but I think it is based on a
dharmocracy, which may require a basis in hug-gomancy

Im very dissappointed in you mushman, you cynical being. What the fuck has hugging people got to do with "moral superiority"?????? Its a very humble display of acceptance and common love. At first I thought this was gonna be cheesey, and it was very slightly a la fromage but cant you see the good in it? Our society has lost so much, we are all so closed off and unreceptive these days its good to see someone breaking boundaries.

I actually think your reaction to this says a lot about you and the way you perceive yourself and others! Why not have a good dose of mushrooms and think about this again. One of the things I hate about big cities like London is the way that everyone is so busy and uninterested in everyone else. Fuck, I witnessed a guy getting kicked in the head a few nights ago; several people just walked past as he lay unconscious on the ground. They werent interested. I had to call an ambulance despite being about the 4th person to witness it.

Im going to mission Hugman to come round and hug you till you relent.
