You're going to use the technology that is a direct product of the very same capitalism you're trying to take down?
If technology is what you want I'd suggest we continue to let corporate america rape the populace and we'll probably see some of the coolest tech advances yet.

Nothings needs to get taken down, especially the capitalism that helped get us this far. It will be an industrial revolution type of thing. It will naturally make its way into our lives, just like technology does, and we'll be able to recognize that it is a good thing.

You underestimate the younger generation. We're just like you when you believed in a revolution. The difference is that we won't get slapped down by our parents and grandparents, since our parents and grandparents are you guys. Plus a revolution with the technology you guys grew up with wouldn't even be that great. This revolution is going to be all about technology.

If this revolution is supposedly composed of my generation I'd suggest we hit the bong a couple more times for good luck; we'll probably settle for a little comfort and an easy distraction like the usual human bunch. Our backs will break to the machine and we'll give in to our middle of the line jobs and start a family for the lack of joy anywhere else in our lives.

Edit: I can't tell if this is pessimism or realism.

Are you spiteful that your generation wasn't able to make a difference? Your role of raising the generation that will is just as important. We won't be able to do it without your permission.

My generation made a difference. Each generation does. Just not the kind you're thinking is possible.

I'm not pissed off at any particular generation because emotionally they are all the same. Kids always turn into their parents for the same reasons too. You're too young to understand all this now.

If you're waiting for me to raise the next generation you got a fucking long wait.

I did the most powerful thing any human can do towards the changes that will bring peace to the world. I opted out of having children.

Probably, except 70in 3D flat screens will cost $30 and our cars will drive themselves and we'll have the most kick ass video games you can imagine. On top of that we'll be free to experiment with mind altering chemicals and any damaged organ will be repairable/replaceable

Exactly! Minus the freedom of using of those chemicals, of course, we'll still be a society that is essentially a spoiled teenager. Who cares about the impact this much production has on the planet, we'll make what we want so we can be comfortable. And we're not even going to touch the capitalism of this system in place? Man, this revolution is sounding just like that of our parents' revolution. :smirk:

In the future a can of Blue Fin Tuna will cost you more than a fucking flat-screen.:themoreyouknow:

Yes of course - because we were supposed to have flying cars in 2000.

Flat screens, self-driven vehicles, video games, and hospitals already exist. They are only going to get better and more commercially available, which has been happening for decades. Predicting the trend to continue is an obvious and realistic assumption. Flying cars were an expectation of two inventions to converge, until we realized that flying cars would be impractical.
