first time user,help

hello everyone,
me and my friends want to take it to the next level.none of us have done shrooms before and dont want our first trips to be bad,if anyone has any advice on this,i will like that. any advice on what kind of shrooms to get either?we are hoping to be tripping on my friends birhtday which is in late may,so we are planning this out.i would appreciate any info on shrooms u think would be helpful,thanks

Hey Newt!

I have not had any experience with high end psychedelic's, but i've always been told that 3 grams is the standard first-time dose...

I was also wondering if one should consider wieght as a factor when dosing.

first trips almost never go bad. just go into it with no pretense or expectation. let it come to you as it comes and flow with it. i've always felt that the first trip is an exploration of, or entrance into, a new world; it will definatly open up your mind to whole new realm of experience.
keep some ginger pills or other anti-emetic on hand just in case. eat 2.5 grams maximum; i ate 1.75 grams on my first and that was completely satisfying. i was glad i didn't take more then.

i ate a half eigth my first time as well.. it was a wonderful, funfilled experience - no tension or fear involved.. i'd say you would probably be okay with doses up to 3.5 grams, but it's always better to start low so you get a feel for what you're gettin' into.  not to mention it'll leave time for bigger/better trips down the road.  i've been trippin' for a couple years now and still have not reached doses above 2.7g (tripped about 7 times so far, starting @ 1.75g)  :cool:

go with ~1.5-2g your first time.  have a good one!

Well I wouldn't say that, on my first trip, I started with 3 g and felt that nothing was happening, (not knowing that they take some time to kick in) so me and my friend started eating the like popcorn, I estimate we eat close to 10g, needless to say it was the most terrifying and wonderful experience in my life, the only other drug I have taken was pot, so I had no way to know what was happening to me, I thought I died and was fee floating spirit, but in over all I came out ok.
But I would not recommend anyone to do that the first time, I will also recommend, not to do more than 2g the first time, remember on higher levels you won?t be able to walk, or do things, and for that you have to be in some place that you will be safe.

Go look at LOBO's trip tips post in the 'Trip Tips' forum. Some of it might come in handy. And don't forget to read the Shroomery Psychedelic FAQ and the How to Avoid a Bad Trip page in the Trip Tips section. Very handy stuff.

If I had it to do all over again I'd do 3 grams.
Ever heard of beginners mind? who wants to waste their first trip on a horrible underdose. I'd read the FAQ from http://www.erowid.org also, but set and setting are points that can not be stressed enough, they will cause the theme your trip will take, so friends, aquantances, music, location and state of mind all very very important. Don't expect anything just flow, mushrooms are not going to be anyone thing to any certian individual.

yo, if you bring fear into the experience, only you can take it out. every trip i've been on, and every trip my friends have had, have always been beautiful, loving, and moving. cultivate a wider perspective on the experience: it's only 6-8 hours and then it's over.

2g was my first dose, and it's the dose i typically recommend to people who are fearful. if you can choose to give into the experience, it will take you to wonderful places, so 3g or an eighth, will optimize the good trip.

make sure you eat and drink water, cuz you wont want to while tripping prolly, and be somewhere you have space and autonomy to play around and be silly.

Tho, I doubt OP is going to respond. He hasnt posted again in 16 years. He probly died or went crazy from to much shrooms.

I'd suggest every one of you start slow at around 0.5 grams each just to make sure y'all aren't extremely sensitive mushroom alkaloids
