This OTD "experiment" could backfire...

I hope not. But it seems to be creating an insane ammount of un-needed drama. I hope half of the membership doesn't leave, honestly I do. the OTD is a f*c*ing classic piece of the internet which should never die. Regardless of the whiners and the mopers who don't like OTD, personally I adore the OTD after just 3 days of posting in it. And I participate in the other forums, namely S&P, and hunting primarally. I decided to check out the OTD, and I think that the OTD is sheer brilliance on the part of the Shroomery's designers. Congratulations! The OTD is yet another great reason why I will continue to visit the Shroomery for all of my mycology needs.

The drama was an anticipated result of the closure of OTD.

I *seriously* doubt half the site will leave due to the closure of OTD. I'd say there's maybe 100 OTD regulars on a site with 20,000 members. Not even close to half.

I'm sharing a house with some college buddies this year and one of them subscribes to Netflix.  So he's been getting the DVDs for seasons one & two of the Fox show, 24.  At the beginning of season one, I wasn't too thrilled but I stuck it out and I just really enjoy the way they keep cliffhangers at every turn and intertwine current events and political climate into their story.  Anyways, that's President Palmer, and on the show he's one of the most ballsy risk takers I've seen - I figured his image would help motivate me to stay strong during this eventful yet trying time.

And would help demonstrate that your intention is to better the Shroomery through all of this. I can't say that I agree with the experiment from the standpoint of being an OTD poster. But I support the Shroomery and I am hopeful that the results will be positive regardless of the road chosen to get there.

I hate OTD what a waste of bandwith.  Every 30 seconds a new topic would pop up by some retard named Spud talking about stupid babble or Nemo making a new topic with his pictures in there followed by a bunch of lesbians complimenting each other, all while members with 30000+ posts call each other by their first names and post pics of a man with a gaping asshole.

Oh yeah I'm really gonna fuckin miss that retarded circus freak show  :razz:

Lol, a lot of people feel the same way as you, but it's still cool that the shroomery offers a forum that allows "free speech and expression".

Unfortunately, some people don't use that forum for free speech, but rather to see how close they can get to crossing the line.  To me, that's a little immature, but it's still cool that there is a forum that allows that.

Minus all the retarded shit, there are some pretty funny posts in there sometimes.  I don't post in there myself, but I do read it from time to time.  It's not a place for the easily offended, that's for sure.
