It just seems that the alot of bitterness and extraneous drama comes from people thinking too much of this place.

I have a theory about that.  People that spend too much time on a single message board or the Internet in general are more prone to have emotional difficulties that prevent them from relating to other people in the outside world.

I was, for a time, a regular at aol's Philosophy chat room.  Then, as I always do, I moved onto something else.  Changes in my life outside the Internet forced me to move on.  It started off real neat at the chat room but over time a few people moved into it that took it for their own and made it their life.

I returned 4 years later for a visit to see if there were any changes and there weren't any.  The same sad people were posting there and they were as dysfunctional as ever.

It's sad, really.

I couldn't agree with that any more. I guess I am that dysfunctional sad person.  :shake:

Ive been posting on OTD ever since it started and I can say.. that many people, including me, have had their overall real life sanity preserved by this forum. I don't know what spawned this controversy.. but people can feel comfort in the fact that they can say ANYTHING in there. Any kind of rambles that come out of their heads no matter how weird, and usually. almost always..,. can find someone weird enough to sypathise with them.
