if OTD is going to be "cleaned up" so much, i guess i don't get the pub.

The OTD was there before the Pub.

If the OTD cleanup succeeds, I don?t see a reason why it couldn?t join with the Pub.

Ahhh, now we see the hidden motive behind getting rid of cheers. It was to create one forum out of 3. The truth is, though, that there will never be OTD and the Pub existing as one. It may happen, but it won't work. One forum is for people to goof off in and post whatever the hell they want, the other is for people to post things off-topic, but of a serious nature. What is the reason for all of this combining, renaming, and deleting of forums?! Is it just to save harddrive space and make things more manageable?!

Let's just say that I am still on the fence on the idea of combining both the Pub and OTD, but recent events have left me more open to the possibility. I have fought many battles here -- some I?ve won and some I?ve lost. However, I have finally woken up to some of the bigger problems which exist here. Problems involving the splintering of this community, the festering of negative social attitudes, and the existence of climate of rampant paranoia.

I am no longer going to dig in my heels, and fight so much, to preserve the status quo of this community, as I am not sure the status quo is desirable anymore. I have always been open to the ideas of my fellow Mods, but I will play devil?s advocate much less. I will no longer be playing brakeman of the circus train of the glorious revolution -- I would rather be one of the dancing circus bears instead... :grin:

I still don't know if that's such a good idea to combine the two.

As of current, the OTD is slowly turning into another Pub, like we've all seemed to have mentioned above.

So in essence, you aren't really combining the two as much as "The Pub" will simply REPLACE OTD.

Myself, I have to get busy re-writing the entire board software. I am going to be working very hard to try and satisfy everyone?s strange needs by adding a long list of mutually exclusive, and contradictory, new features. I think this will secure our place in history by setting new standards in "feature-bloat" that will take Microsoft years to catch up on! The Shroomery is Number One! :cool:

I am also trying to secure a large shipment of Prozac to help treat our more paranoid junior-revolutionaries. These things should take me a few more days, but then I'll be back! :laugh:

I'm serious though, WE keep hearing this "unwelcoming to new people". Well when you see 2 people yapping back and forth in a newbies thread it is worse than the other stuff. I say solve that crap first( which seems unlikely).
