i dont think you should let this experience be your last. Here is my best advice that i can give

get a hold of some good stuff, get together with friends that you trust, know and love. Take care of EVERYTHING beforehand (phone calls, work, bills, etc.) get together in a small room, no tv, no nothing, just you and your friends, create an ambiance, and start talking when you dose and continue enjoying your time together, by the time you are full blown you'll be so full of good energy it will be hard to take a turn for the worse

This is life so go and have a ball. Because the world don't move to the beat of just one drum. What might be right for you may not be right for some. You take the good, you take the bad, you take them both and there you have ... my opening statement. Sit, Ubu, sit. Good dog.

Yeah man we have all been there it happens to the best of us.
I mean anytime i take a psychedelic now im always thinking in the back of my mind hey it could happen. In the past year i have been having alot more rough patches in my trips but its been awhile since a quote unquote "Bad trip" i have had my fair share of bad trips as is the case with any experienced naught, it just happens. Its odd now when i trip. My last 2c-I trips have been great and my last LSD experience was wonderful but there is always that point in a trip i think where we are like hmmm things could turn here uh oh. But all you can learn to just put it off(especially with acid) you can work through it.

And like you said who knows when u will trip again your not in a hurry but dont dismiss the thought of tripping again but dont force it upon your self. I know for awhile back i was really upset because like you LSD had a special place in my heart and i had a mad Cube trip and i seriously took a look at myself hmmm can i handle these experiences. But in the end everything will work it self out for better and if you dont ever trip again then mmm oh well you had some good times and take it as that.

Well one thing is for certain...I dont plan to EVER trip by myself in the middle of a busy city again. I couldve prevented this from happening if I'd just been a little wiser about my setting.

I really hate the sound of helicopters, i dont mean to sound paranoid, but it just happens to be a particularly loud, obnoxious, and fair bit unsettling of a noise for me...hearing a few of these flying over my neighborhood was really the beginning of where my trip fell apart. And like i said, i was completely by myself, with no good buddies to help calm me down from all this.

I have no desire whatsoever to trip in this city again. its fucking awful. I need to be out in the great wide open with a riverbed in front of me, surrounded by giant trees and an infinite sky above me...thats the only setting I'll even consider for now.

Thanks for the helpful words man...

P.S. - The Cyanescen season is very quickly approaching us where i live. I cannot resist the hunt! I wont be dosing on them anytime soon, and I probably will just be giving my finds to good friends in need...but i just CANNOT completely sit out on the season. I mean shit, shroom hunting is virtually my favorite hobby in the universe!

{Peace}

Sorry to hear about your experience. Although I must confess your writing style made me laugh all through it. You probably are not laughing, ha?

Anyway, I don't think you should never touch a psychedelic drug again. You see, the feelings of derealization and anxiety you are experiencing now were not caused by the drug itself but by the incompletely resolved (LSD) session.

"The occurrence of new forms of psychosomatic, ideational and perceptual changes constitute completely new clinical syndromes which the subject has never experienced before. The occurrence of new forms of psychopathology can be understood as a result of activation and exteriorization of the content of previously unconscious matrices. These symptoms usually disappear instantly when the underlying material is fully experienced and integrated." (Grof, LSD Psychotherapy)

You see, your troubles would probably not have happened if you allowed the LSD experience to unfold, as it was suppose to. Unfortunately, this does not help you right now and it's not your fault anyway. What you need to do now is to allow the unconscious material that was activated to complete itself and then integrate that experience. When you do that, your troubles will disappear instantly as noted above.

You can do that in more ways, but two are suggested. One is to trip again  :mushroom2: with a lower dose of LSD in a safe environment and with a sitter you trust. The other way is to activate the underlying dynamics using methods of hyperventilation . This is what LSD psychotherapist Stanislav Grof has to say about this (LSD Psychotherapy, p.148):

"Sometimes the integration of the [LSD] session takes days or weeks. It is important to encourage the client to keep the emotional channels open and continue the uncovering process, rather than try to shut them off prematurely by psychological means or with tranquillizers.

When the spontaneous process does not have enough dynamic strength to complete itself, the sitters should do intense activating work with the client... An interesting alternative to the approach... is use of prolonged hyperventilation? Intense breathing, continued for a period of about thirty to forty-five minutes, tends to collect the tensions in the body into a stereotyped pattern of armoring and eventually release them. This is associated with activation of important material from various levels of the unconsciousness. This is a very effective way of clearing residual problems after a psychedelic experience. The use of this technique requires certain background information and special instructions... [the technique is named Holotropic Breathwork; see www.holotropic.com for details. ]

If neither of the above techniques brings a satisfactory psychological resolution, another psychedelic session should be scheduled as soon as possible. The general principle applied here might seem paradoxical to a conventional psychiatrist. Psychedelic therapy can be discontinued at any tie after a successful session that was well integrated. If it resulted in an intensification of clinical symptoms or a prolonged reaction, continuation of therapy is indicated. The basic idea is that this is not due to some unpredictable effect of LSD, but represents an unfinished unconscious gestalt that should be completed."

Remember. You are safe. You were safe during the entire trip and you are safe now. The experience, feelings and dynamics are all internal. Feel them. Integrate them. They may feel scary, they may feel unsafe, but they are just feelings. This is the way through.

Good luck!

This bears repeating. Thanks RedTail! You Rock, as usual.

You should've done more research and imprinted into your memory the facts that LSD puts you in no physical danger and that a doctor can do nothing to help your trip.

you should do a little more research and understand that having a "BAD TRIP" sometimes involves extremely irrational and unrealistic thinking.

I was extremely paranoid when i made the decision to call 911...seeking help from a doctor was about the furtheset thing from my mind. I just had a severe panic attack and made an irrational decision. I probably would have called a good friend if my brain was thinking clearly enough to make such a decision.

eh, i doubt youve ever experienced the state of total FEAR and supreme paranoia which i felt during those fleeting minutes before calling 911.

Your "advice" here is not really helpful.

Regardless, incidents such as yours justify drug propaganda to the general public. SET AND SETTING

Sounds very similar to an experience I had, except in my case, my parents were home(and quite shocked by the whole incident) and I had a concussion for a week afterward from hitting the wall. The paramedics coming in and taking me into an ambulance was definitely surreal, but it was interesting how my trip seemed to calm down once I was in a hospital bed. I stayed away from acid for about 6 months after that, trying it again at the NE Gathering. I learned a major lesson about set and setting.

Yea, I know. I'm repeating myself. :smirk: But it's the best piece of wisdom I ever found on the post-resolution of bad trips.

You make a valid statement here...however it's also one of COMPLETE uselessness and selfish virtue, at this point.

Youre trying to give me the guilt trip for a poor decision I made whilst having the worst trip of my life. Well trust me, I have been my worst critic in this regard. What I dont need, is to come onto this public board, sharing this extremely self-disappointing and personal embarrassment of an experience...asking for HELPFUL ADVICE...and to have an insensitive prick like yourself boldly remind me that "Incidents such as yours justify drug propaganda to the general public." ...as if I wasnt already beating myself up for this exact fact...

You offer no help. Instead you've just re-itterated information that's already quite obvious (and that was actually already mentioned earlier in this thread).

Honestly, it's shroomery members like yourself who make the idea of sharing a personal problem on this forum seem much less appealing.

Unless someone reads my posts and realizes the futility of getting authorities involved with a psychedelic crisis, then I will have done a service to this online community.

i did some pretty stupid shit on those drugs...

write all over my apartment walls with a permanent marker
call my girlfriend's parents house at like 2 in the morning ranting like a madman
decided to drive a car late at night... in which i then proceeded to get LOST on the interstate highway. i was tripping too hard to read the signs and had tons of cars barrelling down behind me, and the lines on the road were swimming around, i thought for sure i was gonna get pulled over or in an accident. then by shear luck I found my way back to my town...

anyways, the point is we fuck up and do stupid shit sometimes. just gotta pick yourself up again and move on.

i think it'd be a good idea to lay off the drugs.. maybe forever? really think about your life and where it's going and about this crazy experience and decide where your priorities lie.

Re: The Worst (and possibly last?) Trip Of My Life [Re: Grav]

I've had my fair share of bad LSD trips as well. I'll never forget one night leaving a party in houston with some friends. We all gathered at one of my bud's apartments and throughout the entire trip at the party all was well, but as soon as we settled down I started feeling so paranoid about all my friends. One in particular was looking at me and it freaked me the fuck out. I then got the idea I would be stuck in this dream-like warped state for the remainder of my life. I told them I was going to call back home and tell my parents I was fucked for life and LSD had done it to me. Luckily one of my buds escorted me into a spare bedroom and told me to lay down for a while. The next thing I remembered was waking up, completely sober and VERY glad I didn't call back home telling my parents about the LSD experience. It's such a beautiful substance but it does have the potential to turn sour within seconds. Luckily I had friends there to keep me from making an irrational decision. Thanks for sharing that story with us Soular.
