first time fruiting that gas station thrasher culture. he's pinnin, we're off!



3rd flush KSSS just tryin its best. put out a couple. so crazy how wine colored they can be at first. and that one is straight hulking through the coir after punisher tek.

Annoyed these are sporeless. But ARE they sporeless? Peeped some gill tissue.



Here's the KSSS compared to a spore-heavy tidal wave at 20x



and at 40x.

i guess technically there are spores but fuck me, not a lot.

Also, the super low amount of spores makes it a good candidate for a cross right? Like you wouldnt need to dilute that side of the cross. Dont know... just thinking out loud.

I got a random liquid culture syringe from a convenience store in Portland. Been growing it out on plates and meaning to run it, even did a giveaway of it, but it's the first time I've actually bothered to fruit it.

I do want to cross it, but I was planning on doing it the hard way and would actually prefer to have more spores, but yes. I might see if I can grab a couple on a needle tip or something.

In theory, they should preferentially mate with something else before another KSSS spore but IDK how strong those effects are. Squat ochra would fuck so hard...

Spore diolution and plate streaking is op for mono hunting ๐Ÿ™

if it has less spores I'd still try spore diolution and streaking to spread out germination points to give u a better chance of pulling a mono outa the mix rather than all of it mating right off the bat

( I kinda Wana try a agar sandwitch with mono on bottom n whatever I Wana cross with spore dioluted and single drop on mono then press with agar or treat it like a true cabin sequester with a glass slide)

Those are some big Pans, nicely done. The ones I usually see are tiny.

Squirted some GT LC in these rye jars. Trying an unmodified lid at 1/4 turn, secured with tape.
