I generally agree with those assertions… but devil’s advocate: perhaps confinement can be necessary and helpful during stages of evolution. For instance, a cocoon or chrysalis is a necessary stage, while the insides turn to goop, and the outside maintains a static, firm container until the new structure emerges and is ready to take flight.

Likewise, humans can benefit from stages of confinement, sometimes in a prison, monastery, hospital, or marriage, which allows them to concentrate their energies and reflect more deeply on specific issues. Take monogamy versus polyamory - sure, being poly offers more freedom, but it can detract from the alchemical processes of confinement with one partner, being forced to work through conflict rather than simply escaping to one of the other partners.


That all being said, an oppressive government that persecutes people for their speech or dissent… that would reflect a very primitive form of paranoia and inability to tolerate disagreement, diversity.

But it is interesting to see the debate on the limits of free speech when it comes to things like deliberate spread of misinformation, such as during a pandemic or political election or some kind of wider psyop

Those are some very interesting comments, and I can't say you don't have a point. I suppose different individuals thrive in different environments, but who's to say what's best? A free soul and an encumbered soul can exist in identical conditions.

I suppose a free soul could design a containment vessel for itself in order to explore the experience of confinement. Which could then elaborate new forms of communication - because if we are confined, with some kind of barrier between us and other beings, we have to be ingenious about creating new ways to overcome that barrier.

Ultimately, the experience of being human could have something to do with forcing us to refine our capacities for telepathy, to overcome the illusion of separation that we have invented...

In the personal philosophy that has formed in my mind over the last 45 years, I can't say that I posit answers to those questions. It is possible that reality is uncaused and infinitely old. (And therefore, the same can be said for God). It is possible that the whole concept of a question or an explanation is only programming found in certain species of primate, and that we seem rather ridiculous to any advanced beings out there. It is possible everything is designed by a higher being or a creator. It is possible that there is a creator, but that everything evolves naturally, independently of this creator. It is possible that space, time and physical law are evolved natural manifestations, it is possible that they are the result of higher beings, it is possible they are manifestation of an ancient cosmic computer program, etc.

All that said, these are possibilities. At this point in my life, as I said, I do not posit specific answers to your questions.

I've started to really connect with this idea. As someone who has used psychedelics for maybe 5 years now, one thing has remained quite constant for me: noetic understanding and the flip to "spiritual amnesia".

Erowid describes the noetic insight and post-"spiritual amnesia" nature of psilocybin well:

I've accepted that I can't fit "5D experiences" into 3D understanding. I've tried in vain. I wrote a book, as you did, and it was mostly for me: trying to get my thoughts down. I've tried dancing, I've tried meditation, I've tried everything, and I can never get what that "feeling" and understanding is that I have on psilocybin, weed, or ketamine. Can you?

When you take psilocybin, do you get that feeling of how strange and magical it is to exist? Like, looking at your hands, do you get the feeling that this is absolutely incredible that you are a Being of consciousness, One as the Universe, experiencing reality?

Have you experienced time dissolving in psychedelics? To me, that alone is reason to scrap that ordinary consciousness is the sole determiner of what reality is. If something so fundamental to your existence now can just be altered drastically, it throws into question just how much of what you're seeing is mentally constructed. All of it! So open your mind!

When you shared that before, the feeling was transmitted. I don't know if I replied but was forming one. There something key about sharing, and I don't mean necessarily sharing in words, writing and speaking. I think experiencing such is also sharing, if it's aligned in the fruits we know.

I's considering this verse, against the fruits of the spirit there is no law. Our guilt, obscuration, the amnesia is void.

I think whenever such fruits are had, it's healing the amnesia for yourself and another. Every little effort for remembrance is not for you alone.

Due to health issues, I have not taken any mind-altering substances for over thirteen years. (Not even alcohol). The things I miss most are weed and beer/wine. I have not taken a strong psychedelic since 2007. I have no choice, true, but it hasn't been that bad. I no longer have the option of exploring 5D reality, so what I have occupied myself with is being as truthful as I can in my books. That has been a very rewarding journey. In general, over time, I have become quite sensitive to how magical existence is, even in the absence of psychedelics. I enjoy being alive, whereas at this point I feel that most people really don't, despite what they tell themselves and considering their fears. I think the biggest thing that has happened to me over this time is that my desires have shrunk remarkably. I am not a practicing Buddhist, but I find that I really do not cling to much of anything in life/reality, and this has been very freeing. But I'm sort of rambling. In sum, my life's journey has taken me to a place where the world is magical without psychedelics.

I'm afraid I just don't know how to answer that. There is no magic formula or answer, so I would probably stop looking for one. To answer how my perspective has evolved would take longer than the writing in all of my books. So I have to beg off on that one. There is simply no way to cover it adequately.

Mindfulness is good for magic. Forgetting all thoughts... letting go of the past.

Dreaming High Dreams (portals to the numinous)

It's good to cultivate forgetting in tandem with remembrance.
