Any suggestions on substrate?
Poo/no poo? Coir? Sawdust?

I'll be picking up an isolate when they are available if they don't sell out immediately.

Maybe not sell out immediately... but I dig your enthusiasm!

Ps. zinnii spore isolate syringes are available.

Both the pseudoaztecorum and natalensis have been grown on coir/manure by other members so that is what I'll be attempting in my grow. I believe cow manure was used by most people but I have a supply of composted horse manure that I need to burn through so I'll be trying 50/50 coir/horse manure.

I was thinking about it and after looking at others growing both of the species I decided to try the composted manure and the coir+. The only reason I decided to also try the coir+ is because I see true nats are not found on dung, although I see people are successful getting them to grow on it, plus I have everything for it anyway.

I have activity on my plates! Not much to see but maybe in the next day or so I'll get some pics after I transfer. Since I use holy Grail plates I need to remove the lid for good pics, so it will be after I transfer to keep things sterile as much as possible.

I'm going to try basic coir, and a coir+, and I might try some worm castings and coir+ mixed up. when I get a decent clean culture and good grain spawn. I have the MS and ISO on agar now. MS had some myc but I'm waiting to got enough for a few good transfers. ISO is still getting adjusted to being out of the syringe.

Wtf is Psilocybe zinii? Julian made a natalensis x pseudoaztecorum hybrid nearly 2 years ago.

Anyways, it's Section Cubensae. Dung loving (Grain loving in cultivation terms) species. It will fruit on coir and grain alone. If you need manure, then it's some weak ass isolate.

Was it available for everyone to scope? I haven't seen anything on the substrate so I was guessing on what to use. I wasn't sure if dung was needed so I was going to test it. What other info do you have on this? A link maybe?
