I'm needlessly scared of a 'bad trip' because when I was 19 I had one of those typical first edible experiences where you don't feel anything and keep eating. It was like 30 hours of an emotional rollercoaster between very high highs and very low lows with no sleep LOL. Literally laughing out of tears. It didn't even come close to a string of night terrors I had in my early 20s waking up convinced I'm dying with my throat closing up from EoE, so I don't really know why I've been kicking the can along

~4g of PE was intoxicating but still minimal visuals maybe it didnt help i was just gaming with my boys. Only downside was nausea but i didnt get sick. I'm gonna try ~5g in two weeks

Don’t worry about bad trips. I don’t believe in them. It means something is coming up you need to deal with. If you got a good internal will to confront that shit head on then I say fuck it.

For me, any time I have a “bad trip” I come out for the better cause I handled some shit.

I've definitely been there many times. The worst was a halloween party when we made jungle juice with half a 100mg THC lemonade and, after the party ended and everyone had left, I drunkenly crushed the remaining half on the way to bed. Spent what felt like 6 hours lying on my back, positive that I was now an inch tall and paralyzed, repeating over and over in my head "nobody ever died from weed. nobody ever died from weed" on a loop. Genuinely  traumatizing.

Funny enough, I think weed experiences like this are really good preparation for difficult trip moments. That "talk yourself down while not fully believing your own words, paralyzed by laboratory pure terror" skill comes in very handy.

Once while tripping I got the idea, out of nowhere, that I had lost the ability to remember the face of everyone I had ever loved, and the "naaah, it feels like that, but you probably didn't" felt like at most a 4/10 difficulty compared to the really bad weed ones. Weed terror builds the muscle of talking yourself down from those.

I know everybody's different and I'm particularly prone to weed anxiety, but pot legit feels so much more psychologically harmful and medium-psychosis-inducing than mushrooms, both physically and mentally, at least for me.

God, another one was when my little brother worked at brookstone and had those little RC helicopters they sold. He was a very hardcore stoner, and gave me a small dab, which sent me directly into the void. And he was flying this RC helicopter and trying to land it on top of my head, which I was NOT okay with, but I was too stoned to move or speak, so I just kinda had to be frozen in time hating that entire experience. Awful stuff.

Shrooms have yet to do me like that. Once while tripping I saw a black orb start to float into the room and I straight up negotiated with it, like "look bro I get that you have some business with me or whatever, but I really do not have the bandwidth for this rn, so can we just... not?" and it floated right out.

I've tried to request that orb during a trip years later but he didn't show up. I still consider myself in debt after he did me that solid, gotta show up and face whatever it was eventually.
