I should have read this in 2020, tried doing a line of K on 11g dried Liberty Caps (but later  way after the peak) I became a pool of blubber almost paralyzed and completely blurred shaky vision for like 1.5h totally regretted it 5 minutes in lol

And I hope I didnt come across as rude or argumentative in the quick question thread, im just  extremely passionate about mush cult and I dont wanna speak too much until I can back everything up with documented trials but I have since 2020 been basically 99% sure that I can tell bacterial from non bacterial LC, those two are day and night if made into a very clear broth.

I wouldnt NEVER claim to know if a LC is contaminated with molds which cant be distinguished from cube myc in liquids, but there are ways to monitor the growth rate and to incubate the LC at different temps to look for dramatical increase/decrease in growth rate, but as far as bacteria goes (thus far) I have a hard time imagining how a crystal clear liquid can be fully colonized by a non-transparent organism and the liquid still remaining perfectly clear, I havent seen that so far in any experiment Ive done.:takingnotes:

No not at all I guess I was just trying to shut that discussion down because that guy was getting so ugly with everyone. Sorry I didn't mean to make you feel cold out or anything. I totally understood where you were coming from

Here's just a few photos from 5 years ago when I first began making side by side experiments and knowinly inoculating LC's with different types of molds and different types of bacteria, never noticed any difference between different bacteria, always the same results, crystal clear LC's turn to Translucent/opaque liquids in matter of hours

I suggest using a 'control jar' which makes inspection much easier. A control jar is just a broth which hasn't been inoculated. Notice how easy it is to spot which LC's have gone bacterial!

Nice work.

This is one of the benefits of low nutes for sure, clarity of broth for visual inspection. I ran a test once to see how quickly I could visually ID bacteria with 1% versus .1%, i believe it was 4 days with the .1% whereas the 1% was too cloudy  to begin with.

Thanks for the flippin' info, guys. I'm cruisin' pretty smoothly on the lucy alone so I don't think I'll need to supplement.

WTF is life, anyway? Shit's weird, man. I get so caught up on the details in things. It takes a trip to remind me that none of it matters. Just be and be kind to ourselves and others. That's it! Fuck all that dumb shit being pushed at us. Like, be happy with little to nothing seems like the goal. I dunno. What do you guys think?

Ldk said something profound one night after i think he was out peering through the iron needle.  I cant quite remember how he said it but the gist was that

We're all different facets of the same collective consciousness trying to experience itself in an infinate number of ways .

I think he was on to something

Belintaf, thanks for the kind words. I have seen your contirbutions to this thread and your activity with the community. It is clear you are an earnest and kind person with  a wealth of experience for you peers to connect and learn from you. I'm sorry if I was curt and dismissive before; I see you as you are now, not as some sort of flippant nuisance or hardheaded recalcitrant user who argues with everything, which is how I treated you before.

A thousand thanks for your words, fiddle_head.

I assure you it's me who learns here every day from all of you, and I still have a long way to go. And honestly, the greatest thing has been finding so much humanity here — which is hard to come by these days.

And I'll admit I'm getting a little attached to the forum.

Damn, I've been feeling sensitive since my last trip.

As I said — good life to all!

These are a handful of different household molds (each species produced white fluffy myc during vegetative growth on plates) its very interesting to notice how differently they grow in liquid media. Note how the liquid remains completely transparent in all jars even tho they're all basically fully colonized

These are cubes cultures, behind every jar is a Pan Cyan spore vial and zoomed in one can easily read the text on the vial, these LC's are all (CLEAN) I know this for a fact because I fruited some of them inside the LC jars and some I poured onto plates and fruited them on  the petris

These are different types of bacterial colonies, and keep in mind there is always the same Pan Cyan vial behind every jar even if its not visible at all in bacterial LC's

Un-inoculated liquid media broth next to a bacterial LC

And that same control jar next to clean cube and mold LC's

This is just my initial "proof of concept" experiment, very crude but gave me lots of insight into how I can go about performing and much more comprehensive test in the future when I have everything I need, then I'll use only verified bacteria, mold and yeast cultures with names and photos of each organism on both solid and liquid growth mediums documenting them all in both vegetative and reproductive states. And if that test is successfull and makes sense then perhaps vi can start having a tad more serious conversations about what we now know from reliable observations and try to match that experience with what we teach about this one specific part of cultivation. :takingnotes:

Some interesting bonus experiment with adding astronomical amounts of rapidly growing bacteria (1ml of bacterial LC that is) into clean healthy growing cube cultures and usually what happens when bactera is introduced to a cube LC is the cube culture almost immediately stops growing and the liquid turns fully into a bacterial LC, however when I started adding lemon juice into the mix I immediately noticed that the bacterial growth was severely stunted, the broths were still turning slightly more turbid each day, confirming a growing bacteria colony but nowhere near its normal growth rate.

The spore vial is clealry visible even tho these are fully bacterial cube and mold cultures, very vague turbidity slowly forming
