Pan. cyan grow on straight rye grain cased with peat:perlite very thinnly, less than 1/4 inch. First flush had over 200 shrooms on two cups of ryegrain spawn. The shrooms were only a 1/4 the size of all the pictures I have seen, but first flush yielded 3 grams dried. The only problem was trying to carefully harvest without damaging the thin casing layer. Had to scrapeoff remaining aborts, about fifty or so. These were extremley small. The second flush is coming on now a week later. They were small, but it worked.

Psilocybe cyanescens goes into same group as P.azurescens and P.bohemica, all three grow on wood(chips) in North America and Middle and North Europe. They fruit in Fall when the temperature drops towards the freezing point. This is one reason why they are difficult to near impossible(it has been done, but hardly) to cultivate indoors.
I hope this cleared some things up.

The confusion comes, because both species, Panaeolus cyanescens(the subtropical species) and Psilocybe cyanescens(the woodlover) are abbreviated P.cyanescens.

To prevent this confusion, it would be better to use the naming Copelandia cyanescens instead of Panaeolus cyanescens.
