Depending on how hardy the species is you can try a warm pour where you literally pour the agar over the plate. The heat kills/damages the mold more than the target species and it gets ahead so you can get some clean growth on the top of the agar. But this method is last ditch and can often kill the culture you’re trying to save.

You can also try to use a scalpel and transfer only the clean mycelium you see. Just use the tip of the scalpel to whisk away arial mycelium. Don't touch the agar. Only transfer the mycelium onto a new plate.

And here my newest fruitcjamber with zapos and oklahoma wild side by side.
I have the feeling they look redish and contaminated but all of them also the cubensis but they are fruiting any sugestions or inputs. Did i overwater them maybe..?

Temps arround 21c

Hmm, do you think it's mold or bacteria? Trench and cabins are mostly just good for bacteria. I have no clue on how to get rid of mold except going back to spores.

Thanks for your advices

Yes first i was sure it was bacteria so i tried this method.
The hot pure i tried last time no chance at all. after that mess i hat a mix of everything in there was unsure was there still mycelium or only contams.

Yes i did two times.. zapos made me wait till now since two years. what a difficult journey, i was so sure they are clean but they seem not to be.
The cubs just grow fine frome spores one try and done. I do have all the equipment so i just don’t know how to handel them i guess.
But what ever it takes i will get them going!
If i need to start again i will do that
I cleaned them first with agar plates no nutrition then the gap plates that you saw. How could i clean them more..? Just transferring..??

As mentioned try to snag some mycelium without touching the agar, if that fails you could also try BRF pucks, I haven't tried the latter myself, but I've read good things. Do you have more spores to go back to?

Could you make a short summary of your process? And yeah I think most zapo's wants lower temps like 20-24Β°C

Making me jelly πŸ˜‚ I've completely said fuck it to every outdoor patch attempt because fams practically said that after my months of investing n setting up and getting it laid out only when it's practically done.

They don't want me to have it here and consider it a betrayal of trust between me and them n other not nice words said to me after I spent my time and money and efforts on top of planely stated the requirements what it consists of and the risks which wouldn't be there's so to speak.

So the pins I let cook outdoor and il never water any of the patches I made and half the patches THEY specifically wanted originally because of the fungi type and after I went out a my way to make a damn near impossible grow of them practically guarinteed get told I'm a traitor and have no love for them so il eat all time money research n what coulda been as a loss on top of add a slight small cold streak cross my heart.

One of the people I'd think would never be a rat who I thought cared bout me practically was torturing me mentally when I was in so much pain n incoherent from my teeth infections  and a viral infection.

Sorry for airing dirty laundry lol dudes talking to his asshole friend saying I should be committed and put in a mental hospital literally made a video pretended to be scared of me n everything n fake acted like they lost they're shit when I heard it n walked into the room with a look of complete hurt and confusion. I couldn't evin get the words out of my mouth to say man I'm a human too and if anyone's to be scared it shoulda been me dudes 3x my weight and has many historys of unexpected violence. Literally fake recording a scene to entrap me snitching on secrets that only effect me and harm no one (mycology) to figure out my problems n I'm just untrustworthy and have no love them and am crazy n shouldn't be let out of a hospital. ) only time I call someone a asshole is if they do not think about another person before acting or reacting n this brought back PTSD of past traumas and betrayals. There's plenty of destruction forced in my life in the past I'm still not evin recovering from more like holding myself together at best n that literally made me want to go to a counselor for first time in forever. I mean if I'ma be judged crazy n be ratted on id rather it be a stranger I didn't pour my heart out n would do anything for n literally I've proved it time n time again.

Jaw was so fucked I couldn't talk for 5 days before it got fixed and during the worst of it he fucked with me constantly daily intentionally mentally tormenting me and I just couldn't believe it. I could never look at a person in pain no matter how small n not want to help n spend a little time n effort at least to make sure they're better off and to have complete opposite done 😨

The one thing in life I've struggled the most with is loving others and myself ey n I am not gonna go burn bridges or anything though idk 😐 feels like a stab in the back and complete entrapment is all he cared about.😭

So whenever I move across states and find a spot my own where I bring completely noone to and trust noone with will I begin my outdoor attempts again ☠️

Maby someplace tropical or something πŸŽ©πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚

again sorry for airing dirty laundry this is highly personal and I'd like to say very petty n small hopefully though I don't think it was a misunderstanding by them so I have some thinking to do about what's best for me while not ruining my brittle and possibly broken friendship/family with them n should probably just internally try to make sense of it than talk about it 🫑

Forgot to post the last update of my zapo grow last year.
The experimental setup, a shoebox with a small air pump, also produced some fruits but not as many as the trays in my JCM tub.
Next experiments will follow in a martha tent.



Made a lot of vials to store my zapo for long term. Not sure if they are perfectly clean or not.
The caps of the vials warped a little bit during sterilization but nevertheless they seem to be tight.
So next week i'm gonna inoculate some fresh plates with one of those vials to check their cleanness.

Also made some prints and put some dried fruits and colonized dishes aside to backup the genetics.
Got about 50g of dried fruits from the trays and the experimental shoebox together.

Looking forward to the eating day. :eatingout:

I have zero experience with tents. So if you are gonna try to fruit them in a tent your results would be quite interesting for me. :thumbup:

These in partikular not but tho holy grail.
They were extremely fast but after a while the myc turned slime and brownish and it smelled quit bad.
I will try these as well on grain but they are like 5x slower then the holy grail in my case.
