Cannabis is really amazing. It's all about finding what exactly the plant can provide you. There are so many varieties of products that can be made with cannabis. I am now really just enjoying a few hits off of a vaporizer. Tinctures and other oil extracts are just as good. The plant itself is really one of the most striking plants in my opinion. I'm talking the genetics of some of them bring out amazing colors, and the trichomes make the flowers look like they are sparkling. The phyllotaxis of the colas can be seen looking at it in the center, starting at the top of the bud. And the leaves interlock. Some strains have multiple colors, and different types of leaves that are interlaced with the buds on specific ways. The smell is mehh at first but late in flower the fragrance depending on the strain can really be very good smelling, like fruits and flowers.

Yeah, I would like to develop a more balanced relationship with it.  I have a nice cbd tincture I could use more often instead of going for the bong everyday.

I was watching these Indonesian dancers the other day, and I know nothing about that culture, but it was crazy how much these people mimicked some particular entities. Like the people who wrote the dances had been to the same places in hyperspace and wrote the dances around what they had seen.

I just checked our the video you've posted the other day and can definitely see, what you're talking about. Their movements, mimic and the whole outfit resemble, what I've seen DMT entities do.
Quite fascinating!

is a trip to hyperspace required to see entities, or could highly disciplined meditation allow one to see them? this is one area i'm unclear on. there's all this sacred geometry dating back thousands of years, some of which is intrinsic within the architecture of our eyes and nervous system, and which can be seen by psychedelic induction, but i'm not convinced that everyone who recorded them back in the day was necessarily tripping balls. my understanding is that psychedelics are a shortcut to this potential we all have. is there a history of psychedelics in indonesia? i know that chinese mushroom that makes you see little dudes running around has been found in indonesia.

the dancing in that video does kind of remind me of the figures i see when i close my eyes on mushroom trips

I talk to entities sober.  And in Mahayana Buddhism, the line between awake and dreams are blurred.  The tibetan tradition especially with roots in shamanism, do a lot of visualization of entities in their practice.

I think most folks talk to entities every night that they dream.  But I don't want to reduce them to dream characters either.  Because the mind isn't a closed system.

William Blake talked to Angels, and also said that God is imagination.  Which wasn't reductive but it could be taken that way.

If you're interested in a Western perspective that's not reduced to rationalizations, the Others Within Us is a fun book and the author has quite a few things on YouTube

I think what you're saying is totally possible. People have been exploring the realms of their consciousness and being since self awareness. I've definitely not had the dedication to achieve anything like that without substances, but was utterly amazed that with them it seemed like a shortcut to the fabric of reality and the face of the gods.

What is astounding to me is that the things I saw I have since seen on photos of the ceilings of mosques, in South American jungle temples, in Celtic artwork, in Indonesian dancing, and many other places. It's like these things are some sort of universal truth or shared hallucination by our species.

Some of the Buddhist temples I visited in China were highly reminiscent of the tryptamine headspace.

Add that to the fact that mastering the experience itself (surrender, let go, be in the present, etc) is achieved upon a foundation of Buddhist principles and one starts to realise that it’s no coincidence!

The mushroom experience for me is highly reminiscent of eastern religions whereas LSD is more western (white flash of godly light).

not having visited such shrines and temples, but having seen many published photos, I would agree that the architecture and cultivated Buddhist temple environment seems very much inspired by dream like mental states - we can feel at home in those cohesively otherworldly spaces - feeling both humbled, and amazed, but protected, and reflective.

One feels in the presence of the entities in those temples! Gazing around at DMT-like art work, passed down by and recorded by the eastern mystics, visionaries, (or psychonaughts) of ancient history.

I suspect that a mortal able to master full on hyperspace fearlessly (not something I claim to be capable of) would likely attain what the Buddhists call enlightenment— and maybe, escape the life rebirth/death cycle.

If there is one thing psychedelics taught me it is the wisdom and effectiveness of Buddhist principles.

Inspired by dream like states. Probably accurate statement in my mind.

To associate these types of designs with DMT solely would be to turn the other cheek to a massive part of human experience I think.

I’m not saying the people drawing similarities to DMT are doing such a thing, but the imagination is a wild thing on its own, and largely influenced by culture at the time the individual is alive, as well as biology and our entire evolutionary history.

As a child I believe I wiggled my head in this fashion and made these kinds of faces many times without ever knowing what DMT was.

Interesting to think about its origins though.

The first time I smoked DMT while on ketamine, these gnome like entities appeared and were doing these twisting and folding arm movements. The movements were generating sparks and rings of light. One of them performed some of these movements right in front of me and generated a ball of light, which it presented to me as a gift, while saying something like "here, now you do it". I accepted it and I began laughing and writhing on the floor, moving in ways I'm not sure I knew I could, and feeling like I was having a full body/soul orgasm. At some point during this, my GF walked in the room asking if I was ok. I couldn't seem to find words to express how much better than ok I felt, so I think I just said yes.

The experience no doubt influenced the way I dance after, and made me realize there's deeper meaning to it than I previously knew. Movement has become one of the most important things I do for my mental health in the years since, so that's probably my favorite entity encounter.

Had a similar experience and outcome in regards to movement/dancing and entities.

But it was DMT + LSD.

I wonder if dancing until dissolving into flow state makes it possible to momentarily become a traveling entity like that, that shows up somewhere in someone else's experience.

I've had people tell me abstract paintings I've done are similar to what they've seen when they have done DMT. That's never my goal really, my abstract works often don't have much intention, except to just be in that creative space. They kind of start one place and end somewhere else, exploring patterns, colors, perspectives, and techniques along the way.

Would it look the same if I had never taken psychedelics? I can't answer that at this point, but have wondered. Our brains are so wired for pattern, perspective, and color recognition. I think psychedelics can turn that way up, but so can psychosis and schizoid states. Since consciousness and energies are shared, it shouldn't be so surprising that novelty seems oddly familiar at times I guess.

It's both an interesting thing to say or hear though, comparing creative expressions to what is seen or experienced during altered states of consciousness. I like exploring the possibilities.
