Does this look okay? I'm trying to clean up some cultures I have that always seem to do good up until I fruit and get green mold out the ass. I took a couple pieces of the very edge and transferred. I have a feeling the fuzzy growth is a contam.

I'm really trying to get more into this hobby. I got 500 disposable plates, grafting tape and would like to pour roughly 50 to 100 total this week.

I don’t know that brand. I routinely take hot glass to a much cooler water bath with no problem, but I’m using Corning labware. I’ve heard too many horror stories from no name amazon glassware.

Guess there's only one way to find out. I was gonna run it on my induction burner near flowhood. Think I'll keep it in the other room so I don't mess up the hood.

Some of my favorite plates right now. 1&2 are x7x+ T1 from spore. And the last one is a Pan "TTBVI" T1 I am cleaning up from spore.

This is an update using TSA plates. These are after first transfer and did reveal contams hiding underneath. Using backlighting, those contams showed up very obvious. I transferred from these plates to regular LME plates

TSA is a bit expensive but I really like how clear the plates are and, for me, the contams showed very clearly for my old and inexperienced eyes.

First time getting ochra and it’s definitely very aggressive as I’ve read but is this normal for agar? This was the first transfer from spores.

That does not look like any of the Ochra plates I’ve done. The last two pics, I’d try and take a very small clip of the outer edges and put it to new plates. The top two I’m not so sure about.
