Been a while since I had anything worth sharing here, but finally patience pays off. These are the supposed “fast” lineage. This was from LC that was in a jar at room temp for over a year. Shot to two quarts of wheat 3/28, spawned to coir only 4/20, kind of forgot about it for a while and cased with peat/verm/lime 5/31. This is total neglect tek, sealed tub with some holes sitting on the floor of a closet. I didn’t even mist them until today for their pictures. They’re not done yet, but I haven’t looked in on them in about a month and was pleasantly surprised. They were growing towards the light from the open closet door.

My high tech record keeping on display.

Harvested yesterday. Just about 4 months from inoculation. For neglecting these I’m pretty happy with enough for ten doses. Guess I’m done for the year. Err, no I’m not.

I’m all for experimenting, learn by observing. The problem you’re going to have is semps take so long to mature the mold will have plenty of time to take over. The mold is not just where you see it, it’s likely through most of the substrate, so salting is only delaying the inevitable. If it’s your first time, or you have nothing else going on, or you just want the experience you can leave it and see what happens. If it were me I would toss it and move on to other things.

I have another box that doesn't look contam'd next to it. So guessing I need to toss it to prevent spread?

What does drugs have to do with it? You're definitely far from mushrooms.

If the other tubs are healthy mold won’t spread to them usually.

I would harvest all the ones in and bordering the moldy area, and then maybe throw a wet paper towel over the mold and cut out a huge chunk of the sub.

Like Roscoe said they take a while to finish so you’re gonna need to buy as much time as possible.

I’ve used already prepared millet flour a few times. It’s a bit stickier than BRF. The millet grows gave similar results but I almost always start from spores so take that into consideration.
Now I want to drop some unhulled seeds in a blender.

Millet flour to grow with, like BRF?
Or active millet flour from colonized grains for consumption?
