Psilocybe semperviva (P. hoogshagenii var. convexa) Pins! 3
#13886511 - 02/01/11 07:53 AM (12 years, 11 months ago) |
|
|
I will eventually (if I get them to mature...) make this a log, but for now just some pictures. Failed a few attempts already...Tried BRF with RGS, didn't even pin. Spawned it to straw/verm/rgs/manure, it pinned but never matured. So I figured to go back to the basic and do the simpliest - RGS cased with Pasteurized cactus soil. So far so good...
Casing

Yesterday (14 days in GH)

Today

02/03/11 Update Fruitbodies maturing nicely, and other pins keep popping up. Unfortunately it seems like the caps opening up a little early and they're too small. Otherwise they're pretty.

02/05/11 Update

02/06/11 PICTURE HEAVY Update! Well, those white gills are not so white anymore Most of the mature fruits' pileus are nicely flattened out allowing to show the spore distribution on the lamellae. Seems they're ready to print

02/06/11 Another picture heavy update. Mature fruits were harvested and started the printing procedure.
Some last shots before harvest

After harvest

Fruitbodies

Printing/bluing

02/08/11 Update. The printing results of the first few fruits are in.

02/09/11 Update. More fruits have been harvested today. There are still some more smaller ones on the substrate, not many more pins popping up. Should get a few more prints from this batch.
Just before harvest

Closeup of the caps (love the leather-like look..)

After harvest, before printing

Printing in action

A sympathy post is a first post to a post that has uninteresting, unoriginal, inane, or redundundant content. You are then caused to feel bad as you watch said post gain a lot of views yet nobody replies causing you to post out of sympathy.
A first post is an anticipation by said first poster that the thread could possibly go hot topic. Personally, I highly enjoy enjoy your exotic grows so it caused me to "first post". You know I love you bro.

Thanks guys! As for what's next... I have some ongoing projects, for example:
P. ovoideocystidiata

P. stuntzii

P. semilanceata

P. franciscans

Besides these I'm working on P. azurescens, P. baeocystis, P. zapotecorum, P. pelliculosa and again P. samuiensis. Got a bunch of Panaeolus species in various stages (cyanescens/RDU, cyanescens/Hawaii and bispora). I've also got a non-active project going on what I'm very excited about. Got a print from New Zealand from a beautiful species - Cruentomycena viscidocruenta. I've got growth on agar already, we'll see how it's gonna do on rye. Check out these gorgeous photos of this species.

These red non actives are Cruentomycena viscidocruenta? They certainly look intriguing. I'm kinda interested in that grow.

Hey SS,
The Hoogshagenii will not keep you down!
Those are very healthy looking babies.
I did not get prints from my first tub, but I have number two in the GH and another finishing up, so hope springs eternal.
Good luck!

Well at this stage of fruiting I'm not that concerned about the white gills. It'll take a few more days till they're fully mature, so we'll see if they produce and drop any spores.

You sir, never cease to amaze! Magnificent grow!!!

I started two ATL7 spongi block last last week, so we will see.

Love the results stonesun I'm over those babies. Great job, and keep up the good work. It's inspiration to us all
-------------------- Having lived through an existence close to nature, one accepts the small and simple things as most important in life. Sun, wind, rain and snow. The sounds birds make, smells of fresh wild flowers. Love of all kinds, from friends and family, thy self and our neighbors. Beautiful sunrises to the darkest clouds dancing above in the sky. To forgive, learn, share and express. This is the only thing a man such as myself can ask for. What comes as the result is nothing short of the core of human existence, to truly live free in body and mind.

A little delay on the update, I took pictures, but have been too busy to actually update the thread...till now.
Here's the 2nd flush pictures.

And the third flush...

Although it's on it's 4th flush, there's only one pretty large and fat fruit present, so after that the substrate will be discarded in need of more space in the FC. This log is now finished, and I will ask the moderators to move it to the Growlog Forum. Thanks for your time.
