I also went from a pack a day of AS blues to cold turkey.  I found a cheat code though, valium really takes the edge off of quitting and makes it very manageable.  You can do it froggy!

Fellow quitter. Getting over the chemical addiction was ugly, but relatively short. Getting over the habit and desire took me a long time. 31 years later, I can't imagine putting a lit cigarette near my face. :projectile:

I had to quit drinking to quit smoking.  I'm over eight years off the sauce, and I quit smokes for good a year and a half ago.

Congrats to all of you and I'm proud of y'all for prioritizing your health.  Even if you fall off the wagon, hop on back up here.  There's always an open seat.

We are try to quit nicotine anything, been on vapes for years so it’s time now to put that down.  It is so hard to leave a habit I’ve had for decades.  Looking back, I began smoking by stealing Pall Mall non- filters from my grandpa and going in the woods to smoke, after I started regularly smoking, I gave up a promising sport of swimming.  I also remember several sports that could not accel in due to being a smoker.  My favorite was wakeboarding.  I had the best boat, best wakeboard, rope, but have it all up due to the effect of smoking.  I hate it and it is time to put it down.  I’m 53 and now realizing how it’s done damage and time to look at my health.  It’s crazy that I grew up with health conscious parents, and aside from smoking, my partner and I live a reasonably healthy life so what have I been doing all these years smoking, uggg!!! Sorry for the rant, just needed to vent how dumb I’ve been and can only hope to quit and hope even more that permanent damage is minimal.

I'm just glad cigarettes taste so gross to me. Is there ever a point where they suddenly start tasting OK, or is it the type of thing where you either have a preference for the taste or not? It always confused me with how gross they are that they are so popular, because it's not like you get addicted on the first puff, right? Why don't more people run after that first taste?

My feelings always if you don't get high from it I can't justify spending so much money on it, but it's the taste that consistently surprises me. It's so grotesque to my taste buds Haha

Congrats on the ochra germination! I think I'm finally spawning my bacterial as fuck bum grow jack frost jars. Hopefully a🤞 few anemic shrooms will grow at least lol

But you're right of course about the other thing. I don't know why it upsets me, I know sometimes I can say things that might offend some subset of people. But I guess because I always view disagreements as learning experiences, times when I can grow and add to my knowledge base... That it saddens me the other side of these convos don't always get anything of value from these exchanges. Because I really do enjoy the discourse!
