Yeah, my brain is a fucking asshole with that "here's your worst memories at the wrongest time!" Which is pretty much any moment that I'm not actively engaged in work or cult or doing music stuff. Sadly, I get much less time for my brain to have something else to do besides torture me with memories I've tried to foget. Those remain. The ones I wanted to remember have always been colateral damage in the great brain wars.

I'm thankful I have 3 particular friends that do remember the wild shit we used to do, and all those times where we all went - "I can't beleive we didn't die!" and "I can't believe we didn't get arrested!"

I will recommend EMDR therapy for the rest of my life. That merry go round of misery can be stopped. I done did it and will forever encourage others.

I confess that I waited until a 3-day weekend to send my grain to bulk (my first time!) so that I wouldn't peek at it every 15 seconds. The true sin was forgetting to plug in the timer that I'm using to heat the incubation chamber, so I came back to pathetic 60 degrees F growth

there are studies that show this is true. Your brain literally puts more emphasis on the bad than the good, which makes it that much harder to be grateful for the life we have. I have to remind myself to combat this inherit bias, but hey, knowledge is power

Honestly, I usually have prior knowledge that I forgot about when I get that close to the mark about something, so Im gonna take a guess and say I already knew this. 🤣🤣

In all seriousness though, it sounds logical af. Im not sure I believe that happiness is a default state of being when you consider the amount of hardship our ancestors endured. Surely primitive cultures had periods of positive emotions, but imagine trying to relax when there's sabertooth tigers roaming about and you've got nothing but a fuckin stick with a rock tied to it. Gnomesayin?

Pretty sure I managed to mess up PF Tek by not allowing my jars to cool enough after coming out of the PC. Felt cool to the touch, but it was only a few hours out of the PC. After 10 days, still no signs of life.

Oh well, we go again.

If the glass was cool to the touch then they were not too hot.

If the jars were cool to the touch, I seriously doubt the temperature inside the jar at the moment of inoculation is your issue. The temperature would have to be pretty high to have done enough harm to the spores to prevent mating and growth. I would think at least over 100 F and that would not feel cool to the touch.

Thanks guys - hopefully you're right! I've set them aside and will see if anything happens. Just reading the various "don't start worrying til 10 days" posts has made me start worrying :crazy2:! Either way, I'll be more careful in the future to be absolutely sure they have time to cool off inside as well as out.

A PF tek sized jar that has been out of the PC for 3 hours is most likely room temperature at that point. I'd say that even about large mycobags of grain as well. 3 hours at room temperature is plenty of time to cool down unless they're cooling down in a sauna.

In between crayons, you should read Guns, Germs and Steel. It's a book about anthropology that goes a great deal of the way toward explaining why we have the world we do. But one of the thing that it also does is a great job of showing that moving to a sedentary life style with farming and cities didn't actually improve everybody's life right away - it actually made things worse for a large portion of the world population.

I think civilization has this inherent bias about its own happiness, perhaps because we are all a little insecure about how happy we really are. But while science and civilization have brought a myriad of improvements to life, it wasn't all good i think.

Seriously the book is genuinely entertaining though and not just, like a boring history book or summing. So many crazy facts about human development, the author has a great nose for surprising information.

Also: Ruby red is the best flavor of crayon. Trust me.

Hey...Stipe...I didnt know you came to this thread! Uh...just so you know, that whole trich burning thing...I had nothing to do with it. Matter of fact, I actually lied when I said I tried it too. Stupid, I know, but I was just trying to sit with the cool kids or whatever. You understand, right? That was actually ENTIRELY Beef. Entirely. I found a pic on google of a torched sub and posted it like it was mine bc I thought it would make me cool or something. Idk...it was stupid. Anyway, I really hope you understand it was ALL Beefs fault and I never actually tried something as stupid as burning trich. Like...who does that, right? Anyway...have a good day man. I gotta get going. Timer just went off - I was venting my PC, so I should probably go put the weight on it. Ttyl!

Also - idk who Boomer Shroomer is, but I'm assuming this is a yt comment and I've yet to see anything on yt that doesn't stray from shroomery info, so...I'll just leave it at that.
