I think I broke my wife's new instapot by pressure cooking mini rounds for 40 minutes. I don't think it was designed to maintain it's max temp for that long because the four buttons at the bottom have become unresponsive.

We've only used it 8 times and I think I'm gonna be sleeping on the couch tonight. :justdontknow:

@elasticaltiger

It should be able to run much longer than that if there is sufficient water. I have run mine at full for hours, no problem. I have had it get wonky when I made chili that was too thick and it gave an error and would not react to presses. I think that I just had to unplug it and wait for a bit. I am sure that I googled what to do and found some help.

Just turned this one up.

Quote:
19. Instant Pot Keypad is Unresponsive. Instant Pot Buttons Don’t Work.

First, check the power supply: make sure your Instant Pot plug is pushed into the outlet all the way and if you have a detachable power cord, make sure it’s pushed into the Instant Pot base unit properly.

Once you’ve checked the power supply, if you’re still having the issue it’s worth trying out this a solution from one of my readers that actually works for some people. Thank you for sharing this hack, David!

“I have an Instant Pot DUO-60 and the keypad became unresponsive. When switched on, the keypad went straight to the Saute setting and wouldn’t do anything else.  I discovered that by holding down the Cancel button BEFORE switching the mains power on, then releasing the button, the keypad reset itself and it is now working fine. I hope someone finds this tip useful..”

My significant other bought an Instapot for me as a gift after I got into this hobby. I've used it on high for 2 hours and have had nothing go wrong. I've also accidentally left it venting until the water evaporated and it simply showed a "burn" error and turned itself off undamaged.

If you asked me to speculate on the cause--which of course everyone is clamoring for--without having any other information besides your original post, I'd say that water somehow got between the outside of the "pot" and the inside of the "machine" and made it's way into  the button panel. Perhaps the pot was washed without being properly dried on the outside?

Anyway, Instapots are fantastic, and now I can't imagine my life without one.

I use an instant pot regularly for long periods 90+ mins and haven’t had any issues. Maybe just a defective unit? Hopefully it’s still under warranty.

I confess.. I have an irrational fear of using a traditional pressure cooker, hence why I use an instant pot, lol.

Turns out they did not like the ISO treatment. Looked pathetic yesterday and today all veils were broken. Oh, well, at least got some shrooms off the cake.

Made two clones and 4 spore prints. Not a total disaster.

confess to one of the most dangerous shrooms mishaps ive ever had.

me and wifey are bangin. its hot and going really well. after O numbr 1 i take a break make a shroom tea and hop back on her.

O two happens. damn what a time. i make a second shroom tea. we go back at it. this time its getting really intense and i loose track of time.

o three. i start to smell something but im in the fuck zone. like tyson in the ring style focus. shes going wild. i still smell something burning.

i decide to go take some bong hits while she writhes in pleasure only to see my stove damn near on fire.

the water evaporated and the shrooms started to burn. and they did burn.

i dumped some corn starch on that and soaked in water after it went cool and went back at it. i dont think she knows what just happened i tell her tomorrow.

I once finished PCing and turned the stove off.

Then I pushed my pressure cooker to the back burner so my roommate could use the front one for his cook pot. However when I pushed it back and kinda turned it, it had bumped against the stove knob and just barely knocked it into the high position.

My roommate texted me an hour later saying he had woken up to steam everywhere and a fire nearly starting and accused me of leaving it running.

I was so confused at first, cause I was like "there's no way, i made so sure it was moved so your pot would fit"

When I got home the thing was warped and dry. Not good.

Stoves are definitely one of those things you always want to double check.

Felt like this needs a reboot.

I confess that my still air tactics in front of a hood are redundant, but still feel necessary. I’m very humbled by the hood, it forgives a lot more than a SAB would it seems.

I confess I bought an inflatable mono tub. 🤦🏻‍♀️ It wasn’t necessarily that I didn’t know better, but more that I’ve watched the pros here grow in all sorts of containers very successfully so figured if someone could do it right with nothing but a couple of bags, or unmoded shoeboxes, or aluminum lasagna pans with cheap plastic lids, etc. then there was no reason an inflatable mono tub that is at least supposed to be designed for this sort of thing wouldn’t work ok.

Spoiler alert, it does not work ok. What a nightmare waste of time. And those poor pins…
