Hydrogen Peroxide isn't nessecary for cloning and a manure/straw based substrate isn't needed for Cubensis cultivation. This is why Inthepit suggested to read newer stuff. The general rule of thumb is if it's 5+ years old, it might be misinformation or outdated/upgraded.
that was kind of my angle. that we "knew" so much before and are still learning today. It have been a long road to come to where we are today.. I read the ol' stuff mostly to enjoy myself

I have been a long time reader (10+ years) but took a longer break and now it's quite a challenge to figure out what is still relevant today and what's outdated. Also new people on board and many old titans gone or silent, who knows. This board is a rabbithole indeed, spent much time reading here and will be spending a lot of time here, that for sure.

Welcome back. I know it's been mentioned but the best way I've found to keep up with the newer teks is when using the search function set it to where it won't show threads that are older then 5 years. There's a few teks that are older that are still good but most have been improved upon in that time span.
I confess I have wheat to prep and pc and jars to shake and plates to transfer but haven't had a day off since Christmas day. I think they can wait one more day til tomorrow.

Nice techno lab! very german :P
i find it easier today with more mods and a few Proper "main" threads (cult pic of the day as an example) that if one goes threw them you will find all the info needed. with pics to minimize the confussion of how those wholes are going to be arranged, how thick a sub should be and so on..
I guess thats what makes it for me, people arent That paranoid anymore, SWIM and so on.. (most people that is)
Its says alot of where we are on an individuall plane as humans. we are more prone to investigate, not as scared of trying new things / failure and we are becoming better and better at helping each other. Let the mycelium show us the way

Glad you are back, Tryp. But my cat's brother's girlfriend wants to punch SWIM's turtle's water dish.
I confess that I am probably trying too hard.

would be interesting to find out if any really got away with anything by using swim. but i guess we will never know since nothing happened to the swimmers and thereby it worked?

Ok, I have a real transgression to confess
I have been toiling away with increasing levels of success (my first attempt truly sucked, current attempt is doing OK) at making a bucket sized automated growing chamber: fresh air, circulation, and fogger are controlled by a microcontroller using a CO2 / humidity sensor.
In my redemption I have done plain shoebox grows, learned from them, and will definitely be doing my next grow without automation and just recording the CO2 / humidity values throughout the grow to see what happens.
One way or another... I've definitely spent way more time working on my contraption and tuning it than a true simple passive monotub would have required.
Edit: What the heck, here's the grow as it is right now:

See why we tell newbs to save their time and money? Its not us just "being a bunch of meanies".
So many get offended when we say "you dont need to reinvent the wheel". Like none of us wasted time and money making grows more complicated than they needed to be

Haha, yeah I get it. Pretty funny how butthurt some of them get when their claims of "amazing results" are rightly shot down.
