I truly appreciate folks sharing knowledge and experience here. I finally started putting spores to agar last month and am having lots of fun.

Welcome to the shroomery BenForget, and it's an amazing place here. I am still new myself, but the amount of help I've received is immense. The 10000's of hours upon hours of valuable research from this place is insane. People are helpful. To me, this place feels a lot more like the "old" internet. When everyone just was trying to figure shit out together instead of sharing affiliate links on their "top 10 easiest ways to grow shrooms"

Confession: I am pretty sure I am actively growing mold instead of mycellium on my bulk sub because I'm too scared to throw it out..... I just want it to go black or green or do SOMETHING before I throw it

I've never found one like that that gives a really fine mist, they have always spit out big drops as well and I want something that has a super fine, aerosol like mist.

Attach a mist nozzle to a soda water bottle, the kind that use chargers. I assume they make such devices prebuilt though.

its a misconception that it needs to be that fine.  id youre worried about having mist be that fine your probably over misting with the less fine misters.

I confess that I am absolutely obsessed with Mr aliens holy grail plates. I've used literally everything from cell treats to pasty plates. These work the absolute best for me toand my use case.

I have some hand mobility issues the make regular petris hard to work with. These little guys are just a pleasure.

Not to mention making pseudo slants with a deep pour, pf cakes for spore germination and gross ass swabs, shipping gourmet cultures, and I'm even trailing using them for grain and wood pellets to let dehydrate and use for long term culture storage.

They only downside is pictures suck with them. I can see them plainly though.  I need to make some kind of diffused lighting for either the side or bottom to get good pictures and I'm not sure how to do that yet.

I also have a jar of toc spawn that I keep forgetting about it will be a year old in a week. I shook it 4 days ago and it's revoering. I think I'm going to knock up a few mudabottles or run a shoebox with it

I just hate when I do have to mist and the sprayer starts spitting out what looks like large rain drops. I've also never taken the timevto look for anything other the cheapest on hand sprayer:shrug:

That is what we were just discussing,  someone else brought it up earlier in the conversation.

I confess I feel bad that I have not been on the Shroomery very much since the hack.

I feel bad I don’t come visit here in particular.
I need to get over my anxiety and come on back.

I also confess that once I got a 2.5 gallon contractor chemical pump sprayer with a metal adjustable spray nozzle - I’ve hardly looked back at other sprayers…

I use one of these the rare occasions I mist. It burns through water pretty quick though

When I was a child I never understood why a loaf of bread all wrapped in its packaging and left alone would become infested with all sorts of different shades of colorful green mold. Now that I have unlocked the understanding of mycology years later, just the other day I glanced over at the loaf of bread on my counter top and noticed little droplets of condensation had formed on the inside of the packaging while sitting in the sunlight.. Only then did I realize that the bag is full of yeast in an enclosed plastic bag with moisture and warmth making it the perfect growbag for colonization. Blew my fucking mind.

On another note, the first time I went to buy jars I asked one of the floor staff down the aisle whether the jars were safe to be exposed to high temperatures for sterilization, she proceeded to ask me what I am doing that would require the jars to handle temps that hot. I said 'Oh I'm making jams and -', she cut me off and started explaining how her mother used to make jam when she was a child and that all her mother did was fill the kitchen sink with hot water and soak the jars, that's all you need to do. I smiled and simply said 'So, can these jars handle high temperatures?' she looked somewhat confused and offended and said 'Yes' turning around as I began to walk off. - I wonder what flavor of jam her mother made

When the internet was Young, in the days of Yore, I was an absolute noob in every way.

I have had nearly every jar bust in an old Pressure Cooker at least twice if not more during a grain spawn run.

Bad advice is never helpful. :dancingbear:
