Hey Folks
I confess that this thread has really been much more than I ever thought it would be. It’s a great little community builder where we can appreciate and sometimes laugh at our mutual oddities, it’s a support net work, it’s educational - we can learn from each others mistakes and share our knowledge when it’s relevant to confessions.
It’s a place to come and visit and share and thankfully (I appreciate you all for this) the tone stays civil and we more or less stay on topic.
Thank you 🙏

Happy Holidays to You All

Did that a couple of weeks ago.
After a week they started smelling really bad.
It's ok I thought, couple more days and they might pin. :facepalm3:

One night I went to bed but just couldn't take it any more.
Got up and threw them in the trash.
Best decision ever.

Good luck

Goddammit

Maybe if I let them ventilate a bit near an open window and then rehydrate them... would this help kill anaerobic bacteria? I remember one of my first grows I had a cubensis shoebox with a noticeably sour smell and after leaving it to ventilate (as recommended by a more experienced user) it produced a massive 3rd flush.

Anyhow I did this as merely as a test to see how Natalensis grows in super bacterial spawn.

Oh another confesion to make.
The other day I streaked three swabs of different cube varieties to agar. I always inoculate agar plates and leave the 'source material' (sporeprint, swabs, parent plate) near their corresponding receiving plate to then know what to label them.

I unconsciously started clearing up the SAB and putting tools away and put away the three swabs, which were resting on top of their respective plates. I don't know which one is which no so I just labelled them ???A, ???B, ???C. I will know which one's which once I grow them. It's gonna be exciting lol

I start naked but am then usually afraid of spilling something hot in the wrong spot at the worst possible time and thus usually wear at least some boxers.

I confess that when I'm half naked doing work in front of the flow hood... its the top half that is naked.

not judging anyone, it just seems to me that the top half is where I don't want any contaminant spores or bacteria clinging to my clothes.

Hey Nichrome!

My clean up and I'm curious if it's helpful, but I wear gloves
and then wipe my forearms with a bit of ISO and paper towel.
Also take my watch off.

Doing clean work while it’s hot is brutal.

July-September most of the time it never goes below 85-90 so I’d be in there at 4am when it’s “cooler out” speed transferring plates in boxers and a bandana until I start dripping too much to continue safely

Summers are mostly time off from now on though.

just got sad because i was looking at a shaper tek, realized the absence, and the nature of last post, right before covid hit

My confession is I have yet to decontam the filthy garage I moved my mycology work into, and keep procrastinating because SAB is SAB
