A lot of Republican voters are down with single payer and other "leftist" policies too. And there are Democrats who don't support legal pot.

Our differences aren't so stark as people like to think. There are some key issues that people disagree on. If somehow abortion politics were no longer a part of the conversation, I believe many Republicans would be independents, or maybe even Democrats.

It is a HUUUUGE issue for religious folks. Many of them vote on that issue alone.

Trump is supporting the legal weed amendment in my state (because the left agenda is popular). Without billions of dollars worth of propaganda herding the public to the right, we’d have some version of social democracy like the rest of the Anglo world does.
