Hey peeps! I have some “blueing” in the center( transferred piece) of this petri. The strange color hasn’t spread at all in a week. Is it worth opening up this dish to make a transfer? Better to shitcan the whole thing?What say you?

More often than not blue=bruising. Not too much to worry about

Had the same happen to me with some Texas Yellow Cap plates , some spots got dense and started to blue.
Looked just like yours.
I mean, if blue bruising mushrooms = good then blue bruising mycelium must = good too.
I’d say research the hell out of what contamination looks like, maybe even run a few empty agar plates strictly for intentional contamination so you can see first hand what it looks like.
You can tell that this definitely doesn’t look contaminated.

Could be.
I’m for sure a newbie and can only speak from my own experiences, but those TYC plates I had for months (a few of those months spent in the fridge also) and those blue areas never got worse.
Didn’t look bacterial either.
Though I have read about tricky bacteria that ride along and don’t show up till grain jars.
