science is one way of expressing the infinite range of human potential, and can be as ugly or as beautifull as the mind that conceived it. You should have titeld this the beauty that science brings, and then we could have another one called the ugliness that science brings where we could show pictures of nucleur radiation victims, mustard gas survivors etc...

this thread makes no real point other than that science has built some cool looking buildings. but thats a worthwile point i guess...

these are monuments to greed
and are impediments to science,
which is the study of nature -

anything can be subject to distortions by hatred, greed or delusion.

To take it a step further, it can be as ugly or as beautiful as the mind that conceived it... and it can also be as ugly or as beautiful as the mind that perceived it...  :nut:

these are monuments to greed

This was already covered and dodged in another thread. Please show how you can tell the motivation of all of the 10,000 to 20,000 workers and planners involved in bringing such an architecture to fruition.

Thank you in advance for your clear and well-thought response.

No one knows the worth of innocence till he knows it is gone forever, and that money can't buy it back. Not the saint, but the sinner that repenteth, is he to whom the full length and breadth, and height and depth, of life's meaning is revealed. Good and evil loose all objective meaning and are seen as equally necessary and contrasting elements in the masterpiece that is the universe.
