Hey, what is a sign of too much evap, I know sometimes people say there is not enough FAE when they have fuzzy feet as an example?

Hmmm, just realized those are kits.

They are cased with ... verm? I don't think you can do much at this time. I'm pretty sure reintroducing your prior conditions won't change much as most people now go straight to fruiting conditions.

Ride it out, try and  maintain a good micro climate in there.

Also, you should consider taking prints from mature fruits (when they are ready of course) and starting your next journey here --> Updated PF Tek Guide

No need for kits ever again! Good luck, keep us posted with your progress :dancer:

Just figured out I could reactivate my dessicants packets in the dehydrator when I'm dehydrating my mushrooms, two birds one stone...lol

No need for oven or microwave!

Just a few hours and I have my dehydrator at 125' degree's...

If no one has claimed this Tek, I'd like to call it Dessicants Tek...lol

Time to harvest my boy Phil, first one to break its veil and I have no idea how to dehydrate or dry it. I don’t have the means to openly use the air fryer for 8 hrs on its dehydrating mode out in the kitchen, sadly.
Any ideas to dry mushrooms that don’t require such tech??

Place in front of a fan for 24-48 hours. Ideally on a screen/wire mesh so you to have to bother flipping it.

This works great, then put in a jar with a silica gel packet to get that last few percentage dry and keep them dry for storage.

Really? I usually see full colonization with just A2G in a little under 2 weeks. Might not be worth the extra step.


Gonna depend alot on how heavy or light you pour it. If you pour enough that atleast 25% is colonized right after germinating, then you're skipping right to 1st shake. 2 weeks a2g sounds a little quick to me, usually takes me a week just to really get it going from the wedge.


Ok I noc’d some millet jars with 10cc each of some LC. I’ll just keep an eye on them and see what’s what. I did a few grain jars with agar wedges too. I have everything dated, so it should be easy enough to compare. It was about 24 hours ago and I thought I’d see at least a little growth but I suppose not. My estimate of two weeks could be wrong. I haven’t kept records. It might be closer to three, but we’ll see!


Just wanted to follow up. Have a jar of ghost culture started on 8/29 from agar that as of today is ready to send. So I guess 2 weeks and a day? I shake mine a lot. Maybe that has something to do with it?

Like put it on the mesh on the fan directly, or say put it on mesh just with fan pointed at it, idk how the mesh would allow you to not swap it?

This is my idea, prolly making this too complicated

So long there is air circulation around it you're fine. Even a strainer would work. Even a table (but then you don't get air circulation below so you need to flip every 6-12 hours).

Here are some picts.  One cake is fruiting while the other is not.  They were treated exactly the same.  Can I redunk the one that never started, reroll it and try to fruit it again?  Is there anything else that I can try/ ought to do?

Looks like the blob fish variety. Just a dunk should suffice. Depending on what those are, they might do better with a coir roll. :mushroom2:

Fuck that

Put them in the oven with the door open and a fan pointing at the opening, set the oven to 50-60C /  150F - 160F.

Fans don't try mushrooms properly.
