Annnnnnd I had a light saber and my friend was there and I said "you look like an indian" and he said "you look like satan" and he found a stick and a rock and he named the rock ooga booga and he named the stick Stick and we both thought that was pretty funny. We got eaten alive by mosquitos but didn't notice til the next day. I stepped on some glass while wading in the swamp and cut my foot open, didn't bother me til the next day either....yeah it was a good time, ended the night by buying some liquor for minors and drinking nips and going to he diner and eating chicken fingers, and then I went home and went to bed.

do you understand the concept of high infant mortality and the need to make sure someone will be there to take care of you in later life? They live in Africa not the midwest. Try thinking outside of your own reality for a moment.

The human population will eventually be controlled by its environment just like any other living population . There wont be a mass extinction just a levelling of population growth rates .

This is because in actual fact the only resources which are being used up are the resources we burn to produce energy -- i.e. crude oil. The rest of them are still here.

Then you need to do a little more research there bro.

Deforestation worldwide.

Topsoil depletion.

Increasing air and water pollution.

Overfishing of the oceans. (Codfish populations down over 95% in the last 100 years.)

And so on...

This only breaches the core of problems we have. We dont (as of now), imo, have the knowledge to deal with the people and developmental concerns we are facing.

Good preventative measure. BUt i think a good plan would require more than just that... but i think it is in the top 5 problems we face.

Besides... your love doll may be kind of expensive... and the porn store might not take food stamps.  :shrug:

there are plans. and many different ideas on how to do it. many scientists, professors, and others too, have plans drawn out and there are many books on it(future if life).
some have pessimistic views, some dont.
i think it all starts with personal responsibility. but most people know that i guess

personal responsibility... looking outside ourselves to see the world beyond.

I think a large part of the problem is that not enough people are doing that, and not seeing the most important things.

overpopulation is a bigger myth than global warming...

if there was a population problem, wouldn't food and space be premium items, only available to those who fought for them?

what we see are localized problems with population, usually occurring in places where there are jobs, ports, etc...

these are things that attract people, so people gather around them, creating the illusion of overpopulation...

but really its just a matter of convenience, of what we're willing to do in order to survive...

drive four hours away from any city on earth, and you will find a wide open uninhabited space of land where houses are miles away from each other and land is just about the cheapest thing you can buy...

there's a catch though, living there is just a bit more difficult, because there's no electric and no water piped in and no sewer... who wants to live there? nobody... so, naturally, people don't live there, they choose to trade the hassles of living in an overpopulated zone for the convenience of what all those people can do for them

the problem with a lot of people is that there isn't enough food to go around.  is that a myth too?

i agree, i'd say the planet is rediculously underpopulated. assuming that more poeple equals faster increase in techonology (more poeple working in scientific fields and consuming science?) and techonology being the key to overpopulation, we need to get breeding.
not to mention that hopefully oneday when cities are like 100x the size they are now that much pyschological choice/noise might produce far more interesting cultural results they even our largest cities are currently producing (not to say that certain large cities aren't awesome, just once cities get so big that poeple would be as free as if they were living in the woods things will get really cool)

i would also like to add that robots = k3y. without robots overpopulation would such probably, even with all the stuff. we'd need alot of robots to clean up after all those poeple.

answer: yes.
2 days ago i went dumpster diving for the first time with a friend of mine who refuses to spend money for food on princible. we found about a weeks worth of food prepared that day (hopefully) and individually packaged just thrown out. we have so much food we pay to throw shit out, then pay poeple to dispose of the food we want to waste.
obviously thats just america, but i'm sure there is enough food for the whole world.

but aren't there tons of hungry kids in this country? people die of starvation here as well.

and in africa, the land there is so dry, malnutrition is a definate problem over there. do we have enough food to feed the world many times over?
