Know one even knows how the current financial mess is going to be sorted out, then to predict the future philosophy.

What kind of world is this going to be? And will we want to live in it?

When I speak of "overpopulation" I do it subjectively. I know we can pack more rats into the maze. Your statement above is also subjective to your personal experience. "Going to be"?  It's already a lost cause from my experience. Things were different when I was a kid.

Pop will never reach those heaights. There will be massive catastrophes coming, such as food shortages, and what follows malnutrition(disease).

Also, major wars are always a possibility. Super powers such as the states and russia are by no means having fun with each others antics...throw china into the mix and the rest of EU and thats a massive war....over what? Not yet sure, could be resources, major shifts in economics(ie. china is thinking about converting its trading currency to euro's, devestating the North American Economy.

It really is difficult to say for certain...meh, people are not political in our society therefore talk about it, which usually leads to spreading of messages, is pointless. STill a nice excercise.

I think a fruitful discussion would be to what extent so-called "overpopulation" is actually just a matter of unequal distribution of natural resources.  The US has a low fertility rate, yet our consumption of resources is much greater than what most people on the planet consume, even in other developed countries.

It is all improper management. If we dropped all of our resources toward military world wide. Then take those resources toward green technology, space travel and agriculture. The next 50-100 years overpopulation will be synonymous with mis-management of the World. Wake up, to say that this one is not meant is saying you are not meant. Every human life is precious and necessary. A civilized world is possible. However, military (of every country) would need to be destroyed.

What evidence do you have to support this claim that a civilized world would only be possible if every country's military was destroyed? :what:

Say and wish what you like. At least I am giving solutions to the problem. Here is one for a lower intellect. Kill everyone that isn't American. This would eliminate 98% of mankind. Reducing the population to 308 million. Thus solving overpopulation.

It will last as long as we as a collective species can manage to sustain it, I suppose.
