I would probably just stop culting if I couldn't use a hood, it's just too convenient and awesome.

@spacebaby

How do you cut your cling wrap?

Working with a wild cube print from South Carolina. I dumped so many spores not on purpose, they were free and loose on the foil. An aggressive start so far for the myc.

This dish appears to have some possible trich in the upper region. need to do a transfer very soon. Thinking of the section on the farthest left

This dish appears to be clean. How does it look. The condensation doesn't help with observation.

Hi guys, I have a failed lunchbox with some pretty contaminated grains. I don’t know how long it’s been sitting there but I’ve dug through and found some “healthy” mycelium(not healthy it’s contammed af but it still smells good). Any tips for putting a contaminated grain to agar or do I just hope for the best ?

Here’s a pic of my mould box:

Pretty fucked…

Fuck.
I have AGAR ENVY indeed.
I started to make up 3200 ml of agar last night and discovered I'm out of agar. Doh! I dont want to wait foe the delivery; I have a gazillion transfers overdue for the taking.

Hopefully, the Oriental Food Mart a mile and a half away will have Telephone Brand in stock.

For FUCK'S sake.

:facepalm3:

Anybody have a url for that hole punch tool you aesthetes use to take transfers?

I remember you posting about contams on plates while using your hood.

This is how I've made every transfer, no satellites or mold. Keep in mind that every surface, especially the rack, has been thoroughly sanitized with ISO.

Bactizappers are dope af. I need to set my big hood up again : (

The field of view is restricted so that my tattoos aren't visible. It's t-shirt season.

I'm thinking about using plasti dip on the top of my rack so plates don't move around when making transfers.

Yeah or hacksaw.

Box cutter works too but you gotta keep it lined up perfect as you turn.

I've always used a very sharp butchers knife, and some elbow grease. If it's good and sharp it always comes out with nice smooth edges.

Not sure why the fuck this is in bold letters, lol.

I hate it when my plates slide, that may be a good idea.

How do you get pinning to form on agar? Is it just time?

if you can get yourself a wooden dowel that fits inside the paper tube then it makes it much easier to apply a solid pressure and roll the roll in a straight line. cut with a sharp kitchen knife. works really really well

Often corner of otherwise I'll have some dishes that for whatever (guessing bacterial, i dont spawn or transfer those). I'll burying them outside save them up and  last couple times i just threw them100%  in a creek head.I've tried, already been cut up a ton, some that get kinda What do you do
I get a lot of agar with them? Like this that I feel isn't usable abundance.. Idk maybe build a pile, something could spread out there
Im not talking blotchy healthy dishes
Dishes with like a single contam spot in a  good growth, one thats reason, I do not want to use for transfers anymore

You're absolutely leaving out context. The only time you'd want to avoid letting it grow to edges is when you're selecting for transfers. You can see the sectors easier. We could stretch it to say you're also not gonna get some satellite contam from the edge of the dish.

Attempt as in attempt creating and using a dish that colonizes all the way without any contamination or hidden bacteria.

Sure. Regardless I had someone fuss at me about having some dishes older than two weeks implying they should never get that old. Who knows.
