Genetics play more of a role in tomatose vs rhizo

This is a different culture on low nutrient LME 7/14 I think.

So I have two agar plates that I inoculated what was left with my B+ syringe. The first one I did I tried pressing the plunger lightly, but it shot out a stream of several drops, that’s why it looks like that. The other one I managed to get one single drop that was hanging. These are no pours, so the visibility isn’t the absolute best, and I tried to take pictures on the sides without condensation. These are my two agar plates, what do you guys think and read from this? I’m not sure what to do now...? Let it grow out wider some more so I can get a good clean edge? I don’t see any distinct rhizo to take from. What do you guys think of these?

This is transfer three not looking super great what do u think

Plate 1 and 2 I would grab the edges, the puffiness gets me.
Plate 3 Grab transfers from 9-4, 5-7 is fishy
Plate 4 Grab transfers and Plate 5 is a no go
All my opinion though, lots of good mycelium there though

Thinking about letting this two grow in and putting to grain, what you guys think? I did transfers of others two days ago and have backups

I have some transfers here from a MSS and seeing some sectoring. I have little experience attempting to create monoculture and would like some direction. On the note is it completely wrong to inculcate from petri that are sector like this pros and cons to this? Is creating the monoculture meant for controlling yield, BE, and resistance or typically use for creating cross strains? Excited see the results from these first agar grow, using Munchauzen Blenderless Liquid inculcate for 5 qt spawn bags is this the quickest way to see results in the bag with agar?

1. Not sure looks alike everywhere
2. Between 3-6 where edges leading and 12
3. Not sure to choose rhyzo or fluffynes

I am still noob at agar, but I played with it last 3 months, but this culture I don't want to bet on my knowledge that is very poor.

Can you walk me through why his fifth plate is a no go? pretty much all of my plates look like that and have less growth despite longer growth time; plated feb 18th. Here are some images:
1.

2.

3.

I see a lot of people having massive amounts of thick growth after less than a week, while every plate I have is thin translucent growth that is slow to expand. I switched from full strength agar to half strength (shown above) to see if it made a difference, It did not. My half strength recipe is 20g Agar, 15g ME, 1L H2O.
What am I doing incorrectly? I keep the plates on a shelf that receives indirect sunlight with a temperature range of 66-72F.

You can see how the others around the transfer is smoother mycellium and the fifth plate is rougher and splotchy.
It may just be me, but 1% mea and 2% agar works well. I've found that a harder agar and less nutes works well.

This is interesting to me. I've heard that stiffer pucks can help along with less nutes... But usually its only less nutes thats advised.

I can’t see it very well but I’d say outside edge with a nice looking bit of growth and away from any contamination. Just pick somewhere that looks good and go with it

You’d see if it was there (most of the time)

Check out This thread on how it should and shouldn’t look.

It's a process, expect contamination, expect to keep transferring once a week until it's beautiful. You'll know. Just jump in there champ.

Okay, well how many transfers should I take from each at least? And at this point should I just aim for full looking clean straight edges? Judging from my pictures where would you recommend?
