Here are my SGFC Zaps from a little while ago. I'm using a style similar to MacMerdin's Simple Pan Cakes where I make a little garden of half pint jars of substrate in a SGFC. These little guys are a second attempt for this cake to develop mature fruits. I noticed that SGFC Garden grows very short fruits compared to monotubs when using identical substrate w/ the same moisture content. The SGFC seems to dry everything out very quickly, lending to the idea that the SGFC was meant for PF cakes to help hold in the moisture. Having said that, ive had a lot of success with it with just about every species i've tried.



These aborted at about 2" tall. However, I cloned the biggest cluster and ended up getting some VERY aggressive myc out of it. It's much thicker, taller and more healthy looking in general from the myc I started with. Grows slightly faster too! I just need to get my GH finished to give it a shot.

It only took 2 weeks to colonize this entire jar. The culture it came from took 3.5 weeks to do the same.

I searched for a very long time for sugarcane bagasse because of the story of the giant caerulescens that were found on sugar cane debris. It was too hard to find from the US south west so I gave up.

Well, I guess I have to start the search again! Those results are too good to not try.

I've also been wondering about corn stalks and even silage. Pollock says it makes "Luxurious" hoogs so it should at least be worth a shot
