That's because there's no precise definition of the races of humans.  There's no genetic markers or scientific test because the sciences know that race is a social construct. 

How can race statistics ever be reliable when we don't have standard definition of each race?

Sure, we can't run with the first statistic we read but social sciences do a pretty good job of replicating results and create a consensus. Journalism is supposed to fact check, but they are somewhat more sketchy.


But I think we actually know for a fact that most drug dealers and most welfare recipients are not black.

You're creating a strawman here. You don't know for certain whether they're thinking in overall or relative terms.

The rest of what you posted I tend to agree with, statistics can be manipulated for a variety of different reasons and it's important to be skeptical of ALL statistics and NOT just assume it's always a factual assessment.

Not really. He didn't say there are more black drug dealers per capita. He said most drug dealers were black which is straight forward and incorrect.
