I was depressed and I didn't even know what depression was. Now I haven't been depressed for over six years. Not one single day. My life isn't missing a thing. I'm fully content. So as a fully content man, I go about living. Thats all.

Nah I don't think you're as content as you'd have us believe.  You would never get upset at another poster for any reason no matter what they said if you were content. Not if everyone "misunderstood" you or whatever.  No I don't read contentment in your posts here.  Sorry.

Once again you are talking emotional nonsense imo. He's every bit as real  as you are.

No. He's "real" because he has possession of his own mind and he is able to listen and reason. He knows he doesn't know everything and he loves discovery.

I am a human being. My being is primarily based on human "emotional nonsense". Also the term "emotional non-sense" is fallacious and contradictory. Yes, I embrace emotion. I am not an animal. I am a man and within the mind of man there exists emotion. Are you actively denying that emotions are essential to a human experience?

I can. Emotions aren't exclusive to humans, but humans are the ones who are ruled and place too much importance on them. There is no difference between us and animals really at the end of the day.

Also emotions are a product of the brain.

Yes! We are ruled by our emotions! Agreed. As far as your certainty on how the human mind functions I do not share this certainty. There are just so many other possibilities that I have yet to consider.

Exactly, like I was just saying. But, by the same token, can you disprove it?

Thing is, I don't have to.

Then I do not have to prove the existence of love. By your account, I must take what you say without proof. Therefore you must also do the same for me.

We all get to feel whatever we like. Many people in asylums feel things that you and I might just think needs treatment.

But let's not forget the forum we are in.  You're a mod now  and I assume you've been memorizing the forum rules.  Debate oriented, evidence based.  So opinions are not evidence. You can have them but they don't prove anything you say.  And to say "well you can't prove it isn't true" goes against everything this forum is about imo.  Diploid would surely have agreed..

Sorry to say it but I haven't. I don't do rules (like deezdelta, I feel it is my right as a "mental freedom"). I do love, kindness, and compassion, as much as is possible given my human frailties.

Bad mod I suppose!

You know in the good old days Mods used to lock threads that got way off track from the OP and really weren't what the forum was about. I'd say this qualifies.  Put an end to suffering.

Ok hands up who's suffering due to this thread! More than 5 hands go up and I'll lock it!! That seems fair doesn't it? I certainly have no desire to cause suffering to any living creature.

Personally, I'm highly enjoying this debate. My ass wouldn't be hurting, my bladder wouldn't so badly need emptying, and I wouldn't be hitting refresh so damn frequently if I weren't!!!

Don't worry Deezdelta. I'm one to agree with you.

I see a lot of Sloth and Pride in this thread. Yall need Jesus

Sloth is one of the seven deadly sins in Christian moral tradition, particularly within Catholicism, referring to laziness.

Sloth is defined as spiritual or emotional apathy, and being physically and emotionally inactive.

Although, as defined above, sloth is more akin to apathy and inactivity, many English speakers narrow it to mean simple laziness,(Proverbs 10:4, Proverbs 12:27, Proverbs 15:19, Matthew 25:25-30) about which the Bible makes many comments. (Never be lazy, but work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically. Romans 12:11; Lazy people consider themselves smarter than seven wise counselors. Proverbs 26:16; Lazy people irritate their employers, like vinegar to the teeth or smoke in the eyes. Proverbs 10:26)

Pride (Latin, superbia), or hubris (Greek), is considered, on almost every list, the original and most serious of the seven deadly sins: the source of the others. It is identified as believing that one is essentially better than others, failing to acknowledge the accomplishments of others, and excessive admiration of the personal self (especially holding self out of proper position toward God); it also includes vainglory (Latin, vanagloria) which is unjustified boasting. Dante's definition of pride was "love of self perverted to hatred and contempt for one's neighbour". In Jacob Bidermann's medieval miracle play, Cenodoxus, pride is the deadliest of all the sins and leads directly to the damnation of the titulary famed Parisian doctor. In perhaps the best-known example, the story of Lucifer, pride (his desire to compete with God) was what caused his fall from Heaven, and his resultant transformation into Satan. In Dante's Divine Comedy, the penitents are burdened with stone slabs on their necks which force them to keep their heads bowed.

I am not brilliant and I have never done anything great. I'm just a dude just like you except I love everything and you don't. So I love you and I also appreciate your hate for me.
