America's system sticks it to the sick. Again.

Drugs are up to 50 per cent cheaper in Canada because of government price controls.

Why are drugs more expensive in the USA? It surely isn't profiteering off of the less fortunate. Free market capitalist systems never do that.
Only dumb socialists want to enact price controls and other ineffiecient things to destroy the public. You know, like the commies did.

Wissconsin's governer must be a commie, if he thinks buying into the Canadian system of price controls and generic manufactures will help. Better vote him out. All those that can't afford drugs can make 'adjustments'

Didn't he go to university?

Yup, big government (the friends of the libbies... did it again.

Add to that the obcene judgements handed out in lawsuits and you get high priced drugs.

It's another case of being sorry when you get what you wish for.

You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity. What one person receives without working for another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for that my dear friend is the beginning of the end of any nation. I think this also ties into a eugenic ideology which is driven by genuine concerns about material scarcity..Privatization as practiced by the US govt and the world bank/IMF is designed to act against what they call "surplus population" whom they have deemed to be a burden on society (i try to be one as much as possible).

It would be nice if there was a free market in medicine in the U.S. THERE ISN'T. Typical leftist tactic, blame problems of a highly regulated and corporatist system on the free market in an attempt to promote an agenda of increased government interference.

To call humans 'rational beings' does injustice to the term, 'rational.'  Humans are capable of rational thought, but it is not their essence.  Humans are animals, beasts with complex brains.  Humans, more often than not, utilize their cerebrum to rationalize what their primal instincts, their preconceived notions, and their emotional desires have presented as goals - humans are rationalizing beings.

if the canadian government has instituted price ceilings on drugs without at the same time subsidizing the pharmaceutical industry, there will certainly be nasty shortages.

do they subsidize?

if they do, drugs aren't really cheaper. they're just forcing everyone to throw in for drugs that other people use.
